| Just to add a bit - average female needs approx 1900 calories per day to maintain weight - 3500 less per week is 500 less per day so therefore that would be 1400 per day to lose 1lb.
Obv everyone is different and the maintain start calories are determined by height/age/activity levels/gender etc
The 3500 calories less per week is the same for everyone though - its just the daily allowance start amount that would differ.
Most healthy eating plans don't recommend eating less than 1100 ish per day anyway.
