Starting today after reading 5:2

Hi , I have just read the book 5:2 and Decided to start today. I've always seen this group on minimins but never even looked. I hope I can stick to this as I have tried so many other diets and lost just to regain. I'm trying to think of the health benefits and not just obsessing about losing the weight. I'm glad I can look on here for support. I myself like many others have chosen to follow dd Mon,Wed & ,Fri. Just a bit scared about pigging out on up days.

Good luck sam! the best thing for me after only two weeks is I am not deprived of anything and am really quite enjoying the fast days meaning Im not so hungry on up days even. seven pounds in my first two weeks and bmi down from 35 to 34.

Have fun on your up days just dont to too nuts, theres full and theres ridiculous, thats what ive learnt!

Welcome, its a great lifestyle and the health benefits besides those of losing weight are excellent! Good Luck, enjoy!
 
This is my first week. I am on my 2nd DD, I don't find it too bad but I may change my days, I was going to do Monday and Thursday but I think a Sunday may be a better day for me. Good luck I am hoping for a good weight loss next week, but I have to say I have lost the nbloated feeling I usually have so thats a plus already.

Thats good, I find the DD easy enough - though its only my second week! Today is a DD for me, I do Mon & Thurs and don't eat until the evening time on a Sat. But I don't calorie count on the Sat so if I fancy a glass of wine or some chocolate I do. I lost 3lbs after my first full week and I was really happy with that.

I'm on my first week of 5:2
And my days are wed and thurs I found it surprisingly easy even today don't feel inclined to binge like I've been deprived!!! Love reading how everyone is gettin on :) xx
 
Yay well done you. Can I ask you a question do you know roughly how many calories you where eating on your up days

Have to be honest, I've not been counting at all on up days, but have stuck to three meals, not much snacking, (a little of hubby's bday cake, but no guilt whilst eating it!) and maybe a beer or glass of wine in evening. I just love that I can enjoy food and enjoy cooking again without feeling the 'guilt' factor. Ooh and got new cookbook for valentines day I'm looking forward to using. Plenty by Yotam Ottolenghi all looks healthy, a little naughty here and there but mainly yum!
