Zero Noodles

Hi, I'm sure this isn't new to many people on fasting forums but I wanted to share something that has helped me the last couple of fast days. Zero Noodles, or Eat Slim Noodles are on buy one get one half price at Holland and Barrett, they are a strange consistency but they really fill you up and the Zero Noodles are only 4 Cals per pack. Try them, they are now my 5:2 diet buddy!!

Yes, they're grand! I've bought the rice too and it goes great in a stir fry. I've also bought the pasta - spaghetti and fettucine but haven't tried those yet. They're really pricy so the offer is well worth having.

What is the rice like? I think I will need to vary from the noodles at some point.

Ahem, I had a few delivered today, free delivery if you spend over £20 online ...

They're buy one get one half price on the Holland and Barrett site, £20 for free delivery, I have 20 packs of noodles and 4 fettucini. I wasn't overly keen on the rice as thought it tasted like chopped up noodles, whereas the noodles I think are quite close to rice noodles

With the rice I've just used it in a stir fry and don't notice the texture of it amongst the veg. Pus like ordinary rice it's a bit tasteless so needs a good dollop of soy sauce.

I tried making a rice pudding with the rice - YUK! It's really put me off the rice. I've tried the fettucine and it's lovely - tastes just like normal fettucine, I kid you not. Also tried the Slim noodles - much nicer than the Zero noodles. I had a packet with a quarter of a jar of Tesco Finest Pesto - a really satisfying meal for 165 kcals and a good way to get some 'good' fats into you without breaking the calorie bank.

Yes they're a lot like normal rice noodles aren't they? Am looking forward to having the fettuccine this week, think I'll do it with some mushrooms and laughing cow light blue mixed through.

Yes, they're really authentic tasting. I was pleasantly surprised by the fettuccine too - if I hadn't known I would have assumed it was ordinary pasta. Now, if it was just a bit cheaper...

Yeah it is pricey for what it is, however only the price of getting a shapers sandwich from Boots or something, and I don't eat breakfast or lunch on a fast day so tend to think I prob would have spent that on food anyway. I've seen them in bulk on Groupon before.

Good point Hels - I would just buy a sandwich for £2 and not think about it, so if I look at it like that it's not too bad. Gotta share - I just had a packet of the fettucine with 100g of Philadelphia light stirred through. Oh my it tasted so decadent and was so filling - but only 156 kcals - YUM!

Nom, I was thinking of having fettucini with melted laughing cow blue cheese and mushrooms today, but I have some leftover quorn, veg and beansprouts etc to use, boo, lol

Enjoy, Grotbags!

Hmmmm. All the slim noodles/pasta are out of stock on H&B website at the moment. Might nip into town and get a few packets, taste them and then bulk order when they're back in stock. Do they have a pretty good shelf-life on them? Thanks.

Might be handy to have them in for tomorrow (my first fast day). :)

Yes they last for ages - at least a year. I think mine say 2015 scarily!
