5:2 newbie

Im going to start my 1st fast day tomorrow.

Im looking for some buddies?

I've just started the 5:2 diet this week and would really like a buddy too!
How are you getting on with it?
I've only done one fast day which was quite easyish really - next one tomorrow! Then I'm trying to limit my calories to around 1500 - 1600 using MyFitnessPal as an aid. Not sure how long that will last mind!

Do hope you're getting on OK.

Tomorrow is going to be my furst fast day. I'm a little worried. What did you eat on your fast days?
 
hiya today is my first proper fast day. i tried two weeks ago but was so hungry by bed time
This time im at work on a 12 hr shift. breakfast was alpen and soya milk (6:30 am) lunch sandwich thin with hummus salad and ham and weightwatchers carrot and lentil soup followed by a few bits of melon and strwberry (4pm). will hopefully last this time. cant wait till breakfast tomorrow ...toast for definate x
 
The grand total I ate on my fast day was
Lunch (at about 14:00) Egg Salad (250 cals)
Dinner (19:00) Canteloupe Melon (50 cals); Covent Garden Carrot&Coriander Soup (178 cals).

Eating the whole carton of soup took a little while (!), and I didn't miss the buttered bread roll ............ too much!
 
Hey all!

I just started today too! I've had a poached egg on weight watchers toast for lunch and was going to have a couple if quorn sausages for dinner.
I'm hoping this is a good diet! Good luck everyone

I'm thinking of doing my first ever fast tomorrow, and am so worried about it. Would be lovely to have some buddies!
Still deciding whether to have one large meal or split the calories up throughout the day.
 
Just done my second fast day of the week. Don't feel too hungry really, but looking forward to breakfast. I am trying to stick to 1300-1500 cals on non fast days for an extra boost. Good luck everyone xx
 
Just doing my second fast day too - who would have thought that a sweet onion crispbread would taste sooooo good??!!
 
Completed my first fast day today. Am so pleased. Found it difficult, but definitely do-able. Really helped knowing that I can eat what I want tomorrow - which I will, as I'm going to lunch with a colleague tomorrow.
Skipped breakfast, had a very light lunch and a M&S ready meal for dinner.
Drank black coffee and water for drinks.
Had a strange warm feeling around my ears at times, must have been my stomach trying to get my attention!!!

Just for your info - to get the most benefit, you should try to ensure you have at least a 16 hour gap between meals probably easiest is diiner-breakfast
e.g. dinner / supper at 8pm and nothing again until lunch 12 noon next day
 
I've been doing a 16 - 18 hour break. Last week on 5:2 I had a 3lb loss, which for me - slow loser! - is a good number. On a 24/7 VLCD I only tended to lose that much.
I'm eating more like 1800 on non fast days but I'll review that if I lose less than 2lbs a week.

Fasting days for me have just been soup or salad or steamed veges, plus eggs or fish or a (small, kiddie sized!) piece of steak. When I looked at it, it kind of works out approx 100 cals from fat, 250 from protein, and 150 from veges.
Drinking lots of water. Had slight headaches and rumbly tummy the first week but it's got way easier.

I'm fasting Tuesday too this week and I track on mfp!

Just checking in. Hope everyone is doing well. I kind of sailed through this weeks as on night duty and I don't really eat on nights, just plenty of black coffee and water. Now free for a weekend of relaxing :)))
