Thought I'd give it a go!

Hi everyone,

I posted on here a while ago when I was trying JUDDD under the username Pastaholic. I hated that username so thought I would re-register! I found JUDDD too tough to maintain unfortunately, but am still really keen to lose weight so thought I'd give 5:2 a try.

I had my first fast on Monday of this week and it went ok. I got fairly hungry between lunch and tea but managed to stick to 500 cals. My next fast day is this Thursday and I'm actually looking forward to it! On Tuesday I weighed two pounds less.

Monday was my first fast day too and thu will be my next! Was ok yesterday but have had quite a few snacks today :( I think once you have a treat you want more whereas if you don't have anything your ok?! How have you found it?
 
Great that we can do this together! Yes, I found just the same when I tried fasting every-other day....ended eating waaay too much on non-fast days. I hope I find this easier.
 
Going to stay off the sweet treats today and see how it goes! I only went over by 300 cals and I'd had a 'skinny muffin' from Starbucks which wasn't so skinny when I worked it out!! Without that I'd been fine.
 
Well, fast #2 is here! Unfortunately I didn't get much sleep last night which could weaken my willpower. I'm considering just having a large hard-boiled egg (103 calories) as late in the afternoon as possible, and then having a bit bigger tea. Will see!

I must admit, reading all the threads people have started and then abandoned kind of worries me!
 
How's it going Heather? I'm pretty run down, but am not sure how much of its due to the diet or lack of sleep, not to mention this heat!

Have just had a boiled egg so far today, at 103 calories. Getting ready to have chicken with loads of steamed veg, which will bring me up to 500 even.
 
Me too :( been at work and resisted all the goodies! Really want a BBQ or sit outside for tea in a beer garden ha ha just keep thinking I can be normal tomorrow!! I had Special K bar for breakfast quorn salad for dinner and I'm having veg and quorn for tea then early night!! Ha
 
I'm gonna leave it a week and then weigh. Got my hubby chippy chips they smelt so good!! Roll in tomorrow! Ha x
 
Well, I'm finishing fast #2 feeling quite positive. Just like on Monday, I found the late afternoon the hardest - run down and grumpy! However, after tea I feel 100% better. Looking forward to a weekend of good food!
 
Me too :) not getting too excited though because they will probably cone back on. Tonight after a day of normal eating!! Don't even feel hungry it's strange isn't it?!
 
How's it going Heather? Loving your feast days I hope! I know I am :) At the moment I simply refuse to count calories on feast days
 
I have had 2 naughty days :/ went to a party last night and they had the most amazing food! Wouldn't have a clue of the cals so didn't count. Ill see if I have lost tomorrow as that will be a week and if not ill have to be more strict!! Going to do the race for life shortly so wil burn a few cals!!
 
Wow, I bet that will burn some calories! Good for you! I did about 25 minutes on my cross trainer yesterday, and started the 30-day squat challenge. Think I'm only going to weigh myself the morning after a fast day so I'm less likely to be disappointed.
 
Looking forward to fast day #3 tomorrow. Am planning to have a cup of soup with some fresh veg chucked in for 150 calories at around lunchtime, then chicken and steamed veg for tea to bring me up to 500.
 
I'm looking forward to tomorrow feeling bloated today :( haven't been shopping though so not very organised! I did call Into m&s and got a ready meal but 345 cals so not for a fast day! Also got baby carrots but nothing to go with them! I'm thinking of finding a 500 cal menu that I like and keeps me relatively full and just sticking to that on every fast day?
