New to this

Really need help and support. I'll be doing SW from home mixed in with some 5:2 weeks. Our of control with food currently, I'm on it from today. Has this worked for any body or there? Would be good to hear about it

Hey, Thanks for asking.

So far so good I think. Weigh in on Wednesday so I'll know for sure then. Feeling pretty positive.
Found my first fast day difficult and went over by 160 cals, but just working out all out at the moment.

How about you? What plan are you on?

Fingers crossed for Wednesday, sounds like things are going well.

I'm doing 5:2. The weights coming off slowly but surely so happy with that. I had a bad week this week, as there was lots of social stuff going on. I'm hoping for a better week!

Hi, I have just joined Minimins. I have just started the 5:2 diet and really need the support as I am to prone to snacking if I feel hungry! How are you all doing so far?

Hi there! It's a brill plan all you have to think is that if your really craving something you can have it the next day! I always have (pink & whites) in just incase I want something sweet and 40 cal option drinks! Have a look in the stickies section at the too for ideas on the 100 calorie ideas to help you! I lost 10lbs in my first week, then stayed the same due to time of the month next weigh in is tomorrow so will see! I'm hoping for 7-14lbs losses a month :) got 5 stone to shift! Eeeek :D

Wow, you have done amazing so far! Good luck for the weigh in. If you are determined then you will do it. I have 2 more stone to lose. I've already lost 2 stone in the last year. Feeling much better for it. Running after a toddler has helped! Now I need the extra boost.

Thanks for the tips on recipes. I will also have 40 cal hot choc if I need it. Gives me a chocolate fix :)

It all seems to be going to plan. Last Wednesday I weighed in 5lb lighter. YEY! Really impressed with the results so far. Fingers crossed for this week. I have been determined and stuck to it. It's great to have the support from others and the advice as well.

On a down day try cauliflower. It's a really good substitute for carbs. I made a Quarn cottage pie and instead of potatoe top I used mashed cauliflower with a bit of skimmed milk. I'm not even sure if I preferred or to potatoe. Worked really well :D

Yum, thanks. I'll give it a go. May be a good substitute for me. I tried zero noodles and slim pasta but they made me wake in the night feeling sick!

Cauliflower rice is great with a curry and courgette spaghetti is lovely with a quorn bolognaise.

Cauliflower "rice" is florets whizzed in a food processor. Then you put the little grains into a bowl and microwave for 2-3 mins, then serve. Great mixed in with a curry....

Courgette "spaghetti" you need a julienne peeler for. Peel the strips and dry on some kitchen paper, then dry-fry in a non stick pan with a spritz of Frylite and seasoning for 2-3 mins until hot but not cooked enough that they lose their "bite"....

I must take a pic of the "rice" next time I do it, but here's a couple of examples of the spag...
