    5:2 here we go...:)

    A 13st 14 lbs I'm at my heaviest ever. It's so depressing
    But I'm reading the 5:2 book and had my first fast day yesterday which went ok.

    This is what I ate yesterday:
    tea with milk. ~50
    americano with milk. ~50
    can of chicken broth soup. ~ 120
    tea with milk. ~50

    so I did well and wasn't too hungry. The soup was great and will definitely be buying more for fast days as is healthy and filling and really low cal!

    i was really looking forward to eating today and was starving when I woke up but have had the worst headache all day. I drank plenty of water yesterday but can only assume its from the fast...anyone else experience this?

    Been eating a lot of junk today as well so need to be careful not to overdo it!
    So far:
    shreddies with milk 250
    tea with milk 50
    flat white 100
    coconut muffin 300
    mince pie 250
    3 slice toast with butter 300
    baked beans 200

    and DH is cooking a half a duck for dinner...mega calories I'm sure!! I'll try just have a small portion.

    Going for a 30 minute run later too so that should help.

    i'm really going to try and stick to this WOE and give it my best shot. Fasting day again tomorrow.
    i'm also hoping to eat better on feast days once I get into it more.

    will try and post here to keep myself on track and hopefully have some support and support others too

    My goal weight is 9-9 so need to lose 61 lbs if my maths is correct...god seems a huge amount but if I lose 2 lbs a week on average I should get there by July/August next year. Not all that far away as time flies and would be great to have lost some weight by summertime and be more confident with my body!

    second target 12-13
    that'll be one stone gone and I'll be so happy. Will make new mini targets then

    Hi there, it's surprising how quickly it can come off if you are careful on your feast days
    I started SW August 2012, and in November added 3 fast days a week (black coffee, diet drinks, herbal tea, water & bovril when I was really hungry - no 'food' at all)
    By end May 2013 I lost 3.5 stone - but, as I say, I did stick to SW on my feast days

    Wow well done Debridger! Thats a fantastic loss! I'm going to have a read of your posts later for inspiration and encouragement.
    I've had a good fast day today. Just ate a few spoons of tomato soup at lunch and mushroom soup for dinner. One tea and a coffee so I am within my 500 calories today (about 400 I think).
    happy to maybe have one more cup of tea later before bed and I'll be done.
    i think my problem will be not going overboard on a feast day, I'm definitely an all or nothing kind of girl so it'll be hard to control myself on the feast days but I will try. I may join weight watchers in January if I think it will help me on the feast days and a weekly weigh in might be good to have.

    I think if being out of control is possible, using a slimming plan on feast days can certainly help - that's pretty much why I chose not to eat on fast days....
    1) I really didn't want to count calories / points / syns etc
    2) once I eat, I feel hungrier than if I hadn't - so not eating didn't put me in that position

    I chose SW initially as it was no counting and easy, normal everyday food, that, no-one else needs to know you're dieting

    Thanks Debridger! Yesterday was fine and I am happy with it as a fast day but today already I've eaten cereal, popcorn ( a whole bowl) and 4 little wrapped chocolates I really need to control my feast days as otherwise I'll be wasting my time. It's not even 11 am yet and I've already eaten over 1000 calories!

    cereal with milk - 250
    3 x teas with milk - 150
    4 x chocolates - 120
    bowl popcorn - 600

    1120 calories !!

    ok so to save this day I need to be really good and healthy. Going to have a tuna salad for lunch and there is leftover chicken korma in the fridge which DH made last night. So I will eat that without rice and maybe add some veg instead to bulk it up. So I don't need to starve but just control myself.

    its crazy but feast days are going to be harder for me than fast days....but I wouldn't want to give them up, of course !!
    had a bad headache again yesterday evening and its still there but fading. I hope my body gets used to fasting so the headaches disappear.
    i'm not going to weigh myself until next Tuesday morning but fingers crossed I'll see some difference!

    Ok so I have gone slightly over my 2000 calories for the day but not by much. So overall I'm happy it wasn't a total binge in calorie terms. I do find though I'm really aware today of what I'm eating and hence was able to stop and realise that I was going overboard earlier. Before starting this 5:2 I would have eaten whatever I liked and to hell with calorie counting. Roll on the weekend!

    Well done for reigning it in.....I was lucky that I was disciplined through SW already, I just ate what I would normally, and continued to use my syns weekly, but of curse that meant I only had to share them over 4 days iso 7 - so it felt a treat ;-)
    I really couldn't be bothered to count calories.

    As for the headaches, they'll stop after a few fasts, it's just your body getting used to it

    Just in bed, so will break my fast Sat
    Haven't decided what I'm having, but I do intend to make SW cheese stuffed burgers and chips for dinner

    Ok so ate all around me at the weekend as usual and was all ready for a fast day today but then last night happened . My 2yr old kept me up all night so didn't get more than an hours sleep. So couldn't face the thought of fasting today, I'm just too tired .
    Have a dinner out tomorrow with friends so can't fast tomorrow so will have to just be content with fasting Thursday. Disappointed with myself but I'll keep going and I'm definitely going to join weight watchers in January as an added push and for the weekly weigh in. I was meant to weigh myself today but couldn't face it as feel tired and heavy!
    I'm full of the joys this morning as you can see but I don't do we'll on no sleep. Feeling sorry for myself. DD was grand after the night, went of to crèche full of life and not a bother on her

    Ok just decided my weigh in's will be on a Friday morning just after my 2nd fast of the week . And I'm going to stop eating now and fast for the rest of today. I have already eaten a lot but I can try and limit the damage at least. I'm going for a run later so might just have a few spoons of soup beforehand to keep me going but that will be it!
