How can this be right!? 16lb off!

Hi all,
I'm new to fasting but having tried other "diets", plans etc when my dad saw an article about fasting & it's benefits in a newspaper the other week I thought it sounded interesting so looked into it. I'm doing 4:3 fast mon, wed, fri but still logging my cals on up days so I can keep control somewhat! I don't like to call them feast days as I want to still be thinking healthy and a feast to me is a banquet lol!! I have a lot of weight to lose but this time I'm not stressed about it at all, DD haven't worried me so far luckily.

Anyway it was my first weigh in this morning and I'd list 16lb according to my scales, I thought maybe they were broken so got out my old manual ones & they said the same. Still disbelieving I went out & used a friends. Still 16lb down.
I realise it's week 1 & so my first loss is always a bit higher than normal & a fair bit could be water weight right??

I really don't understand! Great bit of motivation but I aim for 1-2lb a week, off slowly & steadily suits me just fine or I just pile it on just as quickly!!

Is this normal for fasting??

Thanks

Wow that's amazing!! I've just started doing 5:2 and struggled with what to eat??? I had mainly fruit and veg and I'm light headed and ravenous?!!

It's a one off lol has to be!
Thank you ?
There are some great ideas online for 300-400 cal meals that I've been looking at. I love my slow cooker so found a lot of low cal healthy meals I can do in there then freeze for "can't be bothered cooking days!" The 100cal snack I have is normally celery, cucumber, pepper sticks etc with some reduced fat humous or sour cream dip. You get loads for 100 cals lol! Or maybe some lean wafer thin ham. I use my fitness pal online & app to check I'm eating enough but not to much ?

Trial & error but you shouldn't be too hungry! Good luck & let me know how you get on.

Amazing start!!! You must be feeling pretty happy and motivated too!! Well done:)

Thanks ?
Yep it feels good to get off to a great start! Hope to take off another 2lb this week!

Hey KT:

What a fabulous start! Has it sunk in yet?

Are you taking your measurements too, as a kind of 'back up' for when you doubt the scales next time?

Still, yours is a really great result that has got me wondering what is the average or even the most weight following an ADF plan can be lost say over a month or two? Is it strictly a 1 lb a week deal or is more possible?

Congratulations again!

Hi 50,

Just about sunk in!
Really need to get out the tape measure as I know from previous diets that my weight can quite often stay the same but I lose inches. Be a good idea to have them so as to avoid discouragement!
I did notice my trusty black trousers were a fair bit looser today though.

I've never done ADF before so I've no idea on averages :-/ 1lb or so a week suits me fine though so long as it's coming off I'm happy!
Roll on Monday weigh in, had a good week so far so hope it shows.

This has to be the easiest plan I've ever tried :) Thanks again!
Katie

Well KT:

It is definately a great AN inspiring start! I can't wait to see your next weigh in results!

I have bought the Fast Diet book yesterday and am looking at it seriously as my last great weight loss hope.....that I am talking myself into starting when this current heatwave is over.....45 degrees celsius here tomorrow!

Wow that's hot!! Send some my way please, still cold & wet here :-(

Hoping for a lb or 2 this week. Still really enjoying both the 500cal & normal days so far. Like you this is not my first diet so hoping it's the last lol!

I haven't got the book, you'll have to let me know what it's like.

Good luck, looking forward to seeing how you get on & hope you find some shade! x

Thanks Keleta!

Here's hoping this week doesn't suffer because the last one was so good!!

Not gone over cals at all yet so fingers crossed :)

That's amazing! Well done!
