Fasting to goal....

Hi everyone

I've dabbled with so any diets and do try to eat "clean" but have managed to put on over a stone in the last 9 months so here I am starting fasting.... I started on Sunday (dd) and today is my second dd. I can't decide if I want to do 5.2 or 4.3. Will depend what I've got on socially. To be honest, I was getting quite depressed previously dieting as I was either avoiding social situations or managing to make progress, then go out and put it all back on!!

Anyway, progress so far -

Sunday dd 10 st 10
Monday up 10 st 6.8
Tuesday dd 10 st 7.8

Am finding today a bit of a struggle. I am always hungry first thing so had toast and soup for lunch and will have the rest of the soup for dinner tonight. Roll on tomorrow! Please drop by abs say hellooooo anyway!
 
I'm sure it will work if you stick to it well. Is weighing daily a good idea though? I'd find it disheartening to see them go up.
 
Hey caz... Thanks for popping in. Have you been fasting for long? I know what you mean about daily weighing but I used to find it kept me on track and then I stopped doing it and all of a sudden I had put on over a stone! Although it used to really depress me when I was beng good and the scales wouldn't shift. Maybe I will switch to every 3-4 days and then every week
 
Yeah that's what I tend to do, a weekly weigh in with a mid week peek. I've only just started this Monday so not long at all.
 
Thought I'd be starving today as yesterday's dd was pretty tough but I've had a cereal bar and porridge and feel fine.... I do find the thought of a dd weighs in my mind a bit though as am already thinking about whether I'll be hungry tomorrow. Am hoping this passes as I get in a routine!

Thanks Carrie! So far so good, just hope I can stick to it. Am desperate to see the nines again but know I'm a few weeks off!

Lunch today was a chicken and bacon salad with balsamic vinegar plus a slice of banana bread which I totally didn't need but oh well. Am estimating 700 calories for lunch and 500 for porridge plus cereal bar.

Dinner is chili and am going to head to the supermarket to pick up some low calorie treats for my dd tomorrow

I know what you mean, I keep thinking about how tomorrow will be a down day (up today) but like you said, hopefully we'll get into a routine and that'll stop.
 
Last night didn't go to plan. I ended up going to a work do and having wine and canapés. No dinner but definitely ate too much!

Actually feels like a relief to be fasting today although my stomach is rumbling and totm has just started!

Think my up day was toooo up yesterday so need to reign it in but hope this is all part of getting into the routine!

Lunch was:

Soup (134)
Warbutons thin (100)
Popcorn (108)

Dinner tonight will be half a tub of soup (100) and maybe half a Warbutons thin (50) so 492 and just under my allowance!

Do you use something to track your up days?
 
To ensure we don't get in a cycle of famine and feast I think it's a good idea to count on up days as if we don't get to where we want to its easier to look back and know what to tweak. :) xxx

I think it's important to too, no point doing it all if you're up days are basically a big feast. I'm on there, caroline_g for me.
 
Yep, I hit goal in early dec and am still maintaining! Eeeek! Lol! Longest ever! Still 5:2 though but now insanity ( beach body challenge ) is over I may go to 6:1 as my kcals will hopefully be more sensible. Found I was so hungry during insanity especially the final 4 weeks I needed to keep the extra fast day to balance my kcals for the week. Hoping to get in a more sustainable routine now. Xxx although I have lowered my goal I'm not overly fussed... I've only done it coz I'm so close to the 8s I quite fancy dipping my foot in... Might like it? Who knows? If I don't I can always enjoy regaining to get back into the 9s lol
