Cool Anyone doing the Scarsdale diet?

I know there is already a post for this but i happened to notice that the last post was in september last year and i had wondered if anyone else was doing this diet this year?? I started on the 11th jan and have lost a total of nearly 12lbs (was having a cuppa in the evening on the basic diet and then seemed to just maintain on the keep trim bit) so today i am back on the basic plan again and i am hoping that another 12lbs will disappear from my body this round but would love to have someone to 'moan' with and a support buddy! In the times it gets wearing and tempting to eat bad things

I have been reading some peoples posts well done all on your weight losses you all seem to be doing fantastically even through the trials and tribulations

    Red face

Heya after reading what i wrote earlier it seems to have come across all wrong, sorry.

What i ment when i said moaning was talking about the difficulties with each other and then hopefully going away feeling better and more motivated.......a problem shared a problem halved. And not just when the going gets tough but to be there to celebrate to.

I am sorry if i came across all wrong iam not so good with words.

    Just starting

Just started the Scarsdale Diet. Going ok, but having terrible sweet cravings . Is anyone having this, and how to get rid without guilt.

It will be great to have some support. Feel I might be on this for a while, but determined I'm going to loose this weight.

    Tired

Feeling a bit tired, but lost a kilo.

Feeling quite positive, but taking deep breaths as son eats bowl of ice cream

Looking forward to my steak on Sunday though

Been on Scarsdale since about 2-15-2012. Lost about 14 lbs. Wife and I are doing well, though we've modified it abit to add a few essential fats. In its time, this was a good plan, but with the additional knowledge we now have about nutrition, it seems to make sense to modify it a bit with some fats. We use olive oil for salad dressings and add protien for snacks when we just have to cheat. It's unrealistic to think one would never eat cakes, pies, candy or starches. A much better approach may be more in line of reducing carbs and controling fat intake. We all know, we'll most likely have something from Tarnower's forbidden list, but we can make an effort to eat sensibly once we near or reach our goals.

We'd be happy to share our miseries with you as we struggle to meet our goals. Love to hear from you!

I'm on Keep trim phase of Scarsdale this week. How does an eggwhite omlet sound? Made it with onions and peppers. Based on what I've read this should fit shouldn't it? What do you guys think?

It has been a week now and I'm actually feeling quite good. I have noticed my stomach has flattened a bit, but that will be from all the bread and pasta I'm not eating.

I've started using loads of herbs and spices, and the food is tasting really good, and I'm not feeling too hungry, but I'm definitely enjoying my food more than I used to.

How are you finding the keep trim phase of the diet Swetybear? I'm quite nervous at the thought of it, because I'm scared that if I have too much control I'll give in to temptation.

Egg white omelette sounds good. You are allowed whole eggs, as long as it is no more than three a week. Is it not very light? I've never had one, as I prefer my eggs poached.

You are doing so well. I can only dream of losing my first 14 lb. not going to give up though.

Kikigigi, when I say a flat stomach, it's that swollen bit you get around your ribs if that makes sense, I'm a long way from doing sit ups, lol. It's such a nice feeling sitting straighter, and not feeling like you have to slouch back to breath, haha.

You are right about the funny taste in the mouth. It's a bit stale isn't it. That and aching muscles when I do house work. Is that normal?

I'll check out those recipes. I need to sit and plan out my meals for the the keep trim phase or I know I will fall off the wagon. Story of my life, lol.: I can't believe I'm looking forward to sugar free jellies, lol.

Tonigh I'm going to have lamb kebabs with salad, and mustard dressing. Already looking forward to it, yum.

I definitely feel it is going to help having people to talk to. I'm already feeling more positive.

Keep trim is a bit, as they say, Challenging! But we seem to do ok. Cereal w/2% or eggwhite omlete for breakfast. was starving yesterday, which is unusual, but ate just a bit of popcorn and that seemed to help. I find when I don't get enough water, I'm hungry, and weight loss is reduced. There's a great site for spices. Thespicehouse.com, (located in Old Town on the Chicago north side).we've used for years. All the spices are imported from allover the world and custom ground for your order. Usually when the box arrives, we can smell it before we open it.

Spices really help the diet. I get mine from a shop online. We're also planting basil, thyme, and chive this year so we can have some stuff fresh. Nothing so good as fresh spice! Been trying to get my cardio in daily, but with a busy work day it is hard ( or at least that's my excuse!)
