Is anyone doing this diet? I started last Friday and would love to have a diet buddy to swap recipes and ideas with if anyone is doing it.

    Hi Karion,

    How are you?

So far so good, I have done a huge update on my diary thread but it is very early days for me.

I like the fact that I can eat, it felt a bit wierd at first if I'm honest because I've got it into my head that unless I don't eat I won't lose weight which is of course nonsense.

There are things I'm struggling with, like the five hours between meals, it is fine if you start at 8am but today I slept in until 11am which means I had "lunch" at 4pm and dinner will be at 9pm. This diet also requires you to cook everything from scratch which is taking some getting used too. I have got into the habit of quick and easy and so this is a bit of a killer, especially as I just want to throw stuff down me but I'm making myself prepare and cook the food and make it tasty with herbs and spices (rather than just making it boring but easy).

So all in all, very early days but so far so good!

    Smile 5 hours

Hiya, 5 hours is from the end of one meal to the start of the next.
My salad based meals take 20 mins to eat, then a piece of fruit - I usually look at eating within a 30 min period.
Just wanted to point out that it's more than 5 hours between the start of your mealtimes.
I need to get my first meal in by 7am for the rest of my day to fall into place.
Am loving the diet though - great to be eating healthy whole foods - good prepartion for lifestyle I think

    Go well,
    Cholet Jo.

Gosh. That's quite a long gap isn't it. I guess you get used to it though?

Smile I think some find it easier than others.

I was SURE my blood sugar would crash after about 3 1/2 hours but it didn't (I think this was due to not having had any refined carbs in the meal.) I never expected to find it so easy to physically handle the gaps.
I think after a few hours if finished with digestion the body switches into "housekeeping" mode which includes detoxification and fat burning. The single protein rule helps here too, keeping digestion efficient.

I'm only 3 weeks in but still amazed at how well I feel on this program. In the first few days I got hunger pangs (and occasionally since too) in the last hour before a meal but I just drink some water, keep busy and it passes.

Weekdays I have breakfast during 6.45am - 7am, lunch midday to finish by 12.30pm, and dinner around 6pm. Weekends are an hour later all day generally. I exercise at 5.45am and 7.30pm (20 mins crosstrainer).
    I've lost just over 12lbs in 3 weeks...still have 24 to go!

Hey, I have done sureslim. I got rid of 13.55kg in 7wks! I think its fantastic!! I just started it again yesterday.
It does take a little getting used to, just like any other changes in life you make. Once you have got through the first four weeks it gets easier. I found that i had no cravings and had fantastic amount of energy!! the reason for stopping was that i got really sick which threw me off track with the timing of meals. This time im going to freeze meals in preparation for "those" moments. Goodluck

Tried it for a few months and didnt work for me. I think the concept and diet plan is actually good, I only wished I had joined a forum like this back then because all I got from SS was 10 mins of hurried one-to-ones in their London clinic, and I can now see that it was support that was essential!

Good luck and well done to those who have succeeded on it. Im going to give Slimming World a whirl and do it slowly.

I do regret parting with £500 - it wasnt worth that sort of money for what I got in return, sorry!

    Wanted - Diet Buddy

Hi there.... anyone out there on their plan? Turned into a Moose over Christmas so started mine asa everyone does on 1 January. I was so mad with myself .... went into hospital in August and feeling sorry for myself ate my way through Autumn and Winter using Christmas as the final excuse to eat everything in sight ending 2010 the heaviest I have ever been.

Nightmare..... still back on track..... 16 lbs lost so far.... not brilliant but getting there.... would have lost more but I know for a fact the bacon and egg toasted sandwich that I had after arriving home late on a Tuesday was definitely not on my plan!

    How are you doing?

Hi Paxton 283, good luck with your diet. I've set a goal for 1 Sept 2011 (spring day in SA) and would like to lose all the excess weight by then - need to lose 30 kg. Enjoy the odd bacon and egg sandwich, just get right back on the diet for the next meal. Good luck! Ilset
