I'm not really sure what keeps me motivated. It's not as though I don't have blips. I was very good for the first 18 weeks of the diet and lost tons but after that I've been more variable. I had a really bad time in December and a major blip last weekend but I think now I have got as far as I have my motivation is just about finally getting there and being this thin person I've never been. Also the change in my fitness is very marked and I really never want to go back to the pain and exhaustion I used to feel.

I don't find Lighter Life any harder to stick to than any other diet. Mostly I find the lack of thought it takes helpful and once you are in ketosis you really don't feel hungry. If anything I found WTG harder as I felt hungrier.

I think the motivation thing is very personal. I have been a failed dieter for years so it really is hard to say why I have suddenly become a successful one (if I could I could probably write a best selling book and become rich!)

Good luck with your diet, just remember it's about small successes that gradually build up to a big one.

    Question day 1

Hi all...if anyone uses this anymore...

I started w2g today and have just had one shake so far - strawberry. It was horrible. I thought it would be like a CD shake as theirs were nice. Let's see how I get on. Anyway, the w2g phoneline was not helpful, so maybe someone here can advise me about the fruit and veg portions each day. It says 80g of veg a day and one portion of fruit on the website. Is 80g of veg once it is cooked? And can this be salad rather than veg? Can it be any veg except potatoes? And the question about fruit is, what fruit can I have and what is one portion? Mangoes are big, so I thought that would not be one portion. But an apple or a banana is one portion?
Sorry to ask so much. I just need straightforward answers so I can do this properly.

Thanks and hope everyone is doing ok. x

ChunkyMonkey - veg has so few calories that I don't think it matters how much you have. I'm sure it can be salad (that's what I used when I was doing WTG - had it with the soup). You need to be more careful with fruit as that is more calorific and has more sugar. If you hate the shakes but like the meals I would do a custom order without shakes and just get some extra bars. Or you could use Avidlite shakes (which are much more filling than the WTG ones). I think the thing to remember is that it is your diet and if you want to do it differently then that's fine. I used WTG for a while but added a breakfast (veggie sausages and baked beans or an omelette) because I kept getting too hungry. The whole diet was still under 1000 kcals so it worked fine.

I'm back on LL at the moment but I am intending to go back to real food over the summer due to holidays and I'm planning to use some WTG products.

By the way does anyone know what the new bars are like?

    Im new

    HI all

I have been reading over all of these posts and I am serious considering signing up for wtg.. I guess my only concern with a replacement shake type diet is that it might all come back on - has anyone had that experience?

Is anyone still using this forum for wtg?

    thanks all!!

    Jules
