I haven't tried it, but my friends father uses Promax. It's not really a VLCD as such. Just a supplement where you can replace breakfast or lunch (or both). Like slimfast, you have to make your own dinner...but unlike slimfast, if you chose low carb you could probably go into ketosis

It's not a tfr (total food replacement), but you probably know that.

So, are you going to give it a go? If so..let us know how you get on

At last!!!!

Hi KD!

I've been hanging around minimins all evening hoping someone would pop into my thread, lol!

Yeah, i do want to give it a go... I bought the Promax Diet (chocolate) and i also have the Thermobol capsules which, in conjunction with PD i should be well on my way to getting back into my jeans sooner than i think (so the nutrition guide says!)

I did take Thermobol before when i was on WW and i lost 13lbs in 5wks with no side effects so i'm not woried about taking them again. My only worry is, will i like the Promax shakes and if i do, and i do well during the 10days, can i afford to keep buying it???? ouch!! Sooo expensive but....

I'd like to give it a go and log everything on here for 10 days to let everyone else that might be interested, see how it's working for one person at least! I've been unable to find a thread here on this diet There was one person but that person has never come back with feedback

I've also just bought a Treadmill and plan to do 30mins brisk walking every morning along with a workout (which i made up) which also involves weights.

I would take 2 shakes a day along with a low carb meal at night and fruit inbetween. What do you think?

That sounds good. Make sure you are eating enough with your low carb meal to get enough goody things for your body.

By doing a low carb meal with the promax, you have the best chance of going into ketosis, but the fruit might be a problem.

You may get more advice if you post on the low carb part of this forum

I've decided to give this diet a go!

I weighed 13/13 this morning... I actually don't mind if i go into Ketosis or not. My aim is to eat less carbs than i have been (which will be a massive drop!!,lol!) but at the same time eat more healthy and that's why i want to involve fruit into my diet.

Today i am aiming for the 2 shakes then a healthy meal of salad with chicken and Olive Oil dressing. I'm not sure if i'll have the snacks today but if i do, i'll have fruit. I'm going to try and drink my water (6pts) and, i also drink coffee with milk.

This is an experiment and i'm looking forward to getting started today. I'm sitting here with my coffee and i'm about to do a brisk walk on the Treadmill for 30mins. Then... i'll try out the shakes!

Day 1 here i go!.....

ok - i had my coffee first thing this morning then did a 30min brisk walk on the treadmill. My MP3 player had the soundtrack to "Mama Mia" playing..

Then i made up the shake using 350mls of water (it says between 300 and 350mls on the tub) It didn't taste good at all! So i decided that for my second shake i would use 300mls instead. (lol, not much difference i know, but i was living in hope!)

I took my first Thermobol about 11am.

Between 12:00 and 2pm i did the arms, shoulders, back and legs workout on the Debra Stephenson workout DVD which REALLY was a workout!

I can hear you laughing now

I then had my second shake with the 300mls of water but there wasn't much improvement in the taste ... It does say you can mix it with "skimmed milk" so i think i'll buy some tomorrow and give it a go as i use "semi skimmed" for coffee, cereal, etc every day at home.

I quickly put a piece of sugar free chewing gum in my mouth to get rid of the taste after finishing my second shake!

About 3.30pm i took my second Thermobol.

I have just had 200g of Mixican Style mini chicken breast fillets in a spicy tomato marinade with a salad of lettuce, cucumber and cherry tomatoes with Olive Oil dressing. Followed by a fat free Shape yogurt with sliced banana.

I've had 2pts of water and 2 cups of coffee so far today. I'll probably have my last Thermobol about 7.30pm. As for the water, i think i'm going to aim for 4pts instead of 6!! Coffee i will limit to 3 a day!

I'll be back later to let you know the outcome of my first day

I meant to say - for a 10 day supply of Promax i paid £41.99 and for a 10day supply of Cambridge it would cost me £54!! So, infact, Promax is a cheaper diet for me,lol! (shame about the taste though

I've had another pint of water. Then at 6.30pm i had my last Thermobol. One pint of water to go and a coffee which i'll have during the X-Factor Tomorrow i will weigh and let you know the result.

What i've had today (although not completely lowcarb) has been healthy i would say, yes?

Why is no one else doing this diet? Am i crazy? or don't i know something that you guys do? lol!

I haven't felt hungry today

Day at a time as i'm not sure how i'm going to get on with these shakes.... I think tomorrow i'll use 150mls of "skimmed milk" and 150mls of water and see how that tastes. Then, if i'm still not happy i'll try 300mls of "skimmed milk"

Hi Irene

I found out about it in a fitness mag called "Ultra Fit" There was a nutrition guide inside it called Fit, Firm & Toned.

I've had my 4pts of water and 3 cups of coffee today. I've just eaten 3 Tangereens... which is much better than 3 choc biscuits which is what i'd usually, infact, deffo have!

nite nite x x

I ended up having a couple of handfulls of Pistachio nuts last night before actually heading to bed! Luckily it hasn't done any damage, as this morning i weighed 13/10 3lbs gone since yesterday!!

My legs hurt like hell though!!!Each time i got up to the toilet in the night, it was a real struggle with the legs!

I only drank 4pts of water yesterday but i was at that toilet just as much as if i had drank 6! It reminded me of doing Cambridge, lol!

I do feel great this morning though. No junk food inside me It's true, you are what you eat! Not looking forward to my first shake though....
