Slight change on the menu front, I made cauliflower pizza!

    Susie and Orbit's daily dribble-img_3235.jpg

Been meaning to try it for ages, but got it into my head that it was a lot of flaff for nothing. Well boy oh boy was I wrong! I did the cauli in the blender because I hate the mess grating makes, but think the food processor would be better next time. Topping was tomato puree, pepperoni and cheddar cheese.

Banged it into MFP and it came up as 7g a slice (for a BIG 12" pizza) - but think I can get it down more by using a low carb tomato sauce, rather than puree.

And it is so filling! Old Piggy here had two slices, and I am bursting!

Oh wow, that looks amazeballs! I must try, is recipe on recipe sticky?

As for cruise ship, sound like you have it all sorted! Remember Italy is also famous for pancetta and all sorts of other seasoned meat, delicious sausages, olives, oh the list goes on!

    Morning ladies

News - I'm no longer a vapour virgin! Used it last night and it's actually great! It felt really wicked sitting inside and puffing out vapour, it tastes like a ciggy, gives you the throat hit (the smokers will get that), but it doesn't smell like one - and it was so fab not to go outside in the rain!

I think a phased replacement programme will be the go. Will start Allen Carr this week, and I've stopped the morning ciggy already (can have a vapour instead), so I'm on my way

Not sure if I will show a loss tomorrow though, I've had a load of cheese, etc this week, plus more of the naughty vino. Actually not bothered too much though, as long as I'm eating well. Exercise will start next week too, so that might help push things along.

    B - slice of pizza
L - hamburgers in lettuce wraps and wilted spinach
    D - dunno, see how I feel

Re the pizza recipe, I went for the simplest I could find Original Cauliflower Pizza Crust | Your Lighter Side

I doubled this recipe, and also replaced cheddar for the mozzarella.

Hi Susie. Good luck on the vapour ciggie. In case you haven't already seen it this book is on the free Amazon list today. http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Gluten-F...ree+low+carber

She has a recipe for 'faux-lafel' which caught my eye! Good old cauliflower!

Thanks babes just taken it - I subscribe to Melissa's blog news, and she does have some really nice recipes - although some of the better ones for low carbers are back at the start of her blog IMHO.

Change of menu - I just tried these - http://www.helenbrowningsorganic.co.uk/speedy-sausages.html - but nice for a treat. They reminded me of the german sausage you can get from Aldi. I had six (they are very little) with fried eggs and it was yummy, about 1.2g carbs for the six.

Oh and another bit of news - I am finally weaning myself off the nasal spray! Last used it yesterday morning so a couple more days and I should be free from using it every day. I just needed a few days off to make sure I could sleep during the day if I couldn't get off at night - happy days!

Guess so hun, that and a week's worth of antibiotics

Feeling very pleased with myself - just made almond and ginger cookies which, according to mfp, come in at 8g carbs for 12

    Susie and Orbit's daily dribble-img_3236.jpg

They aren't the prettiest to look at, they were quite wet so hard to shape, but I've just tasted one and it has a good cookie consistency - a bit crunchy at the edges and also a bit chewy. Don't think the ginger works and it could do with more sweetener (the recipe uses Waldens Farm maple syrup - I'll try hermesetas next time). Am thinking chocolate and orange mmmm.

Ah of course, the antibiotics, forgotten you'd gone on them, when it turned too bad.

Oh wow, biscuits look amazing, with a creamy coffee, yum! Share recipe please or is it on recipe sticky? x

Cookie recipe here - I keep forgetting to put them on the recipe thread, sorry!

Almond Choc Chip Cookies | Low Carb Recipes

And just had a lush dinner - turkey curry burgers and sauteed cabbage. I got one of those fab hamburger press things (from the pound shop) and it made such a difference when forming the burgers!

    Morning all

A tough night, mostly blocked - but I'm not giving in to the sinus spray, I'm sure it will start getting better soon. Google "addicted to nasal sprays" - amazing what awful stories people tell, it's as bad as alcohol or tobacco.

Speaking of which, on a Sunday if I'm at home, I would normally have about 8 ciggies. Yesterday, I had 3 - and just puffed on the vaper instead So am pleased with how it's going so far.

Also lost 2lbs, which I'm amazed at, but happy with Clean and green(ish) today -

B - left over turkey burger and cabbage
L - lamb chops and spinach
D - roast pork and broccoli bake (got some ricotta so will try it with that instead of cream cheese)

Have a nice day all - the sun is out at last!

I was one of those who got hooked on the spray. Its not that I got high on it or anything, its just that the nose seemed to block back up if I didn't keep spraying it. Ho hum. I rarely use them now. I bought a Neti Pot and really should use it more often, I believe its good for me but its got a very weird feeling when using it and I emerge with a cleansed nasal area and bloodshot eyes (Google Neti ) PS, a Neti Pot is useless, I think, if you already have a blocked nose because the fluid has nowhere to go to do any good.

Congratulations on your 2lbs loss! Brilliant.

Thanks! Bit of a surprise but who am I to fight it?

Just trying a variation on the broccoli bake - I sliced two courgettes lengthways and layered them in my lasagne dish, with Tesco Value pasta sauce and a sprinkling of grated mozzarella cheese in between - got two layers, and it should make four nice servings for 6g carbs each. Can get it much lower, a post from Jonsgirl reminded me of the Gia sun dried tomato puree, much lower in carbs at 0.5g per 100g (rough calculation would make it 2g carbs per serve). It's in the oven now so will take a pic when it's done.
