Bridget's diary/burlesque goal...!

Hi everyone! I thought I would join you on the atkins page as I am low carbing using pig to twig :)

I also decided to share my strange goal - though I am sure you will understand the urgent need for shifting this weight!

I dabble in Am Dram and am in a play at the end of march which requires me to wear a bikini (that's never gonna happen, so we will call it 'swimwear' of some sort!) And later a burlesque outfit including a solo dance routine...

I sooooo don't want to be loafing around on stage looking like .... well, I cant even imagine what it would look like!

My goal was to drop 3 stone so I was 9.5 but I only have 8 weeks... so am hoping for a possible miracle of 2 stone!

Am in ketosis, lost a few inches but no weight yet. Am exercising too so here's hoping!

Good luck all, will post my food for the week in a mo for advice and maybe inspiration :)

Yay! Weigh day and have lost 3lbs and 2ins this week. Am very pleased with that :)

How is everyone else getting on?

I managed a few more greens today for my lunch so that was a bonus, but I have to admit to skipping the gym as I am tired and my legs are still hurting from aqua and walking over the weekend. I know, what a wimp!

Well done:). And walking is great exercise - chronic cardio and overdoing things is not good for you!

Your food sounds great, well done on the losses. I've got the idiot proof diet book which has got some lovely recipes in, I find pig to twig very motivating :)

Thanks everyone, it's so nice of you to read my ramblings and taking the time to write! I have not been on one of these forums before and thought I would be writing to myself! Lol :) glad you are enjoying the menus too!

Yes, I do love the pig2twig book, it's like my bible, I carry it everywhere! And it's so funny :)

So... I am going to set myself a few goals this week to keep me on track as I am scoffing too much cheese and sugar free jelly, not drinking enough water or eating enough greens (why are these simple things so hard?!)

1. Drink at least 2 litres a day, pref 3. 1 litre before lunch, 1 after lunch, 1 evening.
2. Have at least 2 portions of proper leaves a day - spinach (thanks coffeelover!), rocket, kale
3. Try and cut back on the cheese.. although this is my main source of fat and I like it! ;)

I was very surprised to find out today that sugar free polos contain lots of carbs! I had 3 - totals 4.2 carbs! It is from the polyols. I dont really know what they are but I believe a type of sugar/sweetener. I scanned the barcode on my phone and it gave me the info (vis MFP). Hmmmff.. wont be eating any more of those! Should have scanned before I ate any! I just assumed sugar free was ok... so lesson learned and not too hard a lesson thankfully!

Oooh, I made some more muffins last night but did the feta cheese with onion ones - yummo!

Monday
B - sausage and egg muffins
L - honey roasted salmon with rocket and dressing
D - feta muffin and sausage muffin
S - jelly and cream, peanuts

Tuesday
B - feta muffin, sausage muffin
L - halloumi cheese with rocket plus two goats cheese in bacon
D - prawn cocktail on lettuce
S - peanuts, dark choc square :)

Haven't been to gym this week so must go tomorrow! Though I also have a dance lesson in the eve so that will be a double whammy!

Have a fab evening all, keep up the good work!

I have not been on one of these forums before and thought I would be writing to myself! Lol :)

LOL you're kidding - we can talk for England :D Imagine a bunch of women nattering endlessly over their back fences, that's what it's like here :D

How do you make those feta muffins, they sound lush!

Ha ha - an image of les dawson springs to mind! :)

Ok, feta muffins:

Block of hard feta (needs to crumble, rather than the softer fresh creamy stuff) 200g is fine. Crumble it all and put into slightly oiled muffin tins (12)

Onion, sliced, diced and fried in butter until soft. Add to muffin tins.

12 eggs, 120g double cream, 120g water - whisk together, pour into tins and cook on 190 for 25/30 mins depending on how good your oven is!

I always end up with lots of liquid left so make a batch of sausage ones too. Replace feta with 450g sausage meat/squeezed out sausages (messy and very therapeutic!) Add a little sea salt to liquid and pour over sausage meat. Add grated cheese on top of each muffin. Cook for about 20 mins.

Let muffins cool before taking out of tins. Microwave for 1.5 mins from fresh, 3 mins from frozen (for 2 muffins).

Enjoy!:D
