    Princess Peanuts Diary

    Hey everyone

I'm just finishing week 3, and have only lost around 6lb so far. I know this isn't right for atkins especially as I'm being so strict.

    Weight loss:
    Week 1 -7lb
Week 2 +3lb (but put it down to that time if mth?)
    Week 3 -2lb

When I done this 10 years ago I lost around 10-12lb in the first 2 weeks.

    Does anyone have any advice?

    Many thanks!!

Welcome and good luck. Not sure why, but still that's really half a stone which is really good amount. Are you drinking lots of water? What about any sneaky sugars in Atkins bars or splenda? Just keep posting.

Actually that doesn't look too odd to me esp with totm included. Water whoosh at beginning always confuses things! Should settle down to avg 1-2 lb a week but the one certainty with atkins is it's not linear but does work Keep posting and if you include your menus we'll keep an eye on them

Just looked at your other posts on main board and i see you've still got diet fizzy drinks in there. After having watched people for 3 years i highly recommend you cut them out if at all possible as a notorius staller. Also think you are exercising so inches better measure than weight at this point!

Thank you so much Katie and Coffeelover for your comments!

Yes, I do have a lot of fizzy, at least 1 litre a day if Im being completely honest I have such a sweet tooth though, and Im used to eating at least one (maybe 3/4 choc bars a day) so to go from that to nothing was very difficult and I guess Ive used fizzy as its substitute. I didnt touch the atkins choc bars for the first 2 weeks (as advised) but have had about 4 over the last week (week 3).
I have to admit I feel a little deflated having not lost much more especially as I had wanted to lose about 2 stone by the end of March, it doesnt seem Im going to make this Im really gutted about that.

So what Ive decided to do this week (starting tomorrow) is to have no fizzy or atkins choc bars for the entire week and see if this makes a different. Its going to be so tough for me, but I have to try... Im getting desperate.

Youre right Katie, the measurements are dropping which is the only thing keeping me motivated right now, otherwise I may well have given up with it.

I drink plenty of water, probably around 4-5 litres a day, Ive always been a big water drinker so for me this isnt a problem.
Is there any other advice you can offer me? To get 1.5 stone off in 3 weeks.... ?!?! (its unlikly I know ) - just having an off day today I guess (sorry) xx

Hi there, yes I do have greens, I'll post below what I usually have on a daily basis :

    B : egg mayo/scrambled egg with bacon
L : chicken breast with mayo
D : veg (cauliflower, broccoli, spinach, kale, celery, green pepper, leeks, green beans, mushrooms) - I normally have 2 or 3 of the above veg, about a large handful worth? With meat (chicken, pork, salmon, home made beef burgers)
Sometimes I have tuna and mayo as a snack
Sometimes I have milled flaxseed on my meat to help with fibre
I avoid onions and only have 2 caffeine coffees a day, as I've heard they can stall weight loss.
I always drink around 4/5 litres of water a day
    4 black coffees (2 caff, 2 decaf)
    5/6 peppermint teas
    3 cans of diet coke
4 atkins choc bars over last week but that's it

    I exercise 5/6 days a week.
I'm currently completing the focus t25 DVDs at home (5 days a week) - these are the follow on from the insanity DVDs so pretty intense and I also go to the gym on the weekend (doing cardio and a small amount of weights)

The only things I can see I'm doing wrong is drinking the fizzy? The atkins bars are only new this week and I lost 2lb? I'm totally confused!

    Thanks for your help/advice

I don't have those often. I've had peppers once but leeks I've probably had about 3 evenings a week.
To be honest I hate veg so to have it in the evenings is bad enough.

Do you seriously think this is what's causing the slow weight loss?

Is fibre gel ok to take? It's 3.5g carbs but also 3.5g fibre, so does that = 0g net carbs?

Ok, so halfway through Day 1 of "no fizzy" on Induction and the start of week 4 of atkins induction altogether.

So far its going ok and Im not missing it as much as I thought I would but now Ive got to lunchtime Im starting to think about it, but I know the worse time will be after dinner tonight as I always, always want something sweet after dinner, I cant help it! Lets hope I can get through today without giving in. Ive also noticed how tired I am too, must be lack of caffeine from the coke...

So... I'm starting to get a little frustrated now. No fizzy for 2 whole days and I've put on the 6lb I've lost and my stomach feels really bloated.

    Any ideas??

    Thanks Vicky!
OK will do, I will put the last 2 days on here, so you can see what Ive had the past 2 days too to see if anything Ive had can be causing this as Im starting to feel really down about it :

    Monday:
B : 4 egss with full fat hellmans mayo with 4 rashers of bacon
L : 3 chicken breasts with hellmans mayo
D : pork with brocolli, cabbage & cauliflower (about one large handful in size)
DRINKS : 3x black coffee, 2 x black decaff, 6 peppermint teas, 5 litres of water

    Tuesday:
B : 4 egss with full fat hellmans mayo with 4 rashers of bacon
L : 3 chicken breasts with hellmans mayo
D : Cauliflower rice (nothing else added) with homemade chilli (I calculated this to be around 9 carbs when I made the big batch a few weeks ago, it contained lots of mince beef, with green pepper, plum tomatoes, spices, mushrooms, celery) and I put some grated cheese on top for calcium and also had spinach on the side.
DRINKS : 3x black coffee, 3 x black decaff, 6 peppermint teas, 5 litres of water

I will update todays later on tonight (although I know what Im having already, but just incase it changes)

Looks good but a lot of mayo maybe making you stall? Olive oil may be better, that's just my personal opinion though I know my body and stomach prefers the olive oil.
