The coconut flour isn't induction friendly, but if you're on owl you can find it in the supermarket, especially Indian supermarkets, and online.

Coconut oil is likewise in tesco and online and -is- induction friendly. I get mine from amazon.

You can make cheesecake without the flour, of course. I have a recipe for cheesecake cupcakes in my thread in the recipe section.

Extra note to Donzy: I just posted on another thread that Holland&Barrett have a penny sale on at the moment - you can buy a tub of coconut oil at the regular price, and a second tub for one penny!

That really is very cheap! I'm no expert on this, but I remember when I first got interested in coconut oil I read a lot of reviews/info on it, and some are refined oils and others not; although the H&B is pricey, it did have the lovely taste of coconut [hoping today's purchases have the same as it's in the same design tub!] and a friend gave me a different tub which had no flavour at all..... I just looked up a review of the Tesco one, and one poster said about the ktc:

hello cassy. if you bought the ktc 100 percent pure 500ml or 250 ml coconut oil, the reason why it has no smell is because it's refined, so the claim of 100 percent pure is false and misleading, as i too, bought coconut oil for my health. turns out i was doing myself more harm than good. you must buy unrefined. you will be able to tell difference straight away. oh and its far more expensive. --Ray

I bought 100% pure coconut oil, but it has no smell. Do u know why not?
I don't know why the responder should think it harmful - maybe because certain nutrients get destroyed in the process? Lots on the net about it. I shall stick with the one I originally bought, because of the flavour, but the Tesco one is cheap enough to be worth trying and throwing out if you don't like it. Sorry I can't be more helpful x

You can buy coconut flour at health food stores or you can make it by yourself, as I do. The most difficult part is to open a coconut) After that its very easy it's explained in detail in these instructions on how to make coconut flour) - you just need to separate the meat from the nut, then squeeze the meat and remove any excess liquid, cut it into small pieces and put in cookies form, bake in the oven for ten minutes, then put the meat in a food processor and blend until it is transformed into a fine powder.
Can't say anything about coconut oil though, Ive never cooked anything with it, I only use it for hair sometimes)
