One whole month on!

Well - I have been on this plan now for a whole month and have lost 17lbs. I know I'm not going to carry on losing at this rate but if I can average 3lbs a week I'll be really happy.

Have just finished my AAM week which was weird. I didn't want to have a "meal" as such, I just added some veg and chicken/fish to my soup. I have been eating a lot of the thai soups - put chilli and thaibasil and coriander in the soup and added pak choi or spinach or baby courgettes. Didn't really...

Homework

Thought I'd jot down some of my "homework" set for me by my consultant - just for the record. Didn't really think any of it would be relevant. I know why I'm fat I eat healthily enough but just don't burn off enough calories - this weight has crept on slowly over 5 years. Or so I thought, its only since I started to write stuff down that I realise that I do still have issues with food.

Here's an excerpt form my letter to myself saying goodbye to "Fat Carol" ...

Trauma of a Team Meeting!!!

Back to work today after team meeting. two of my colleagues know about my VLCD but the others didn't and it is very hard to hide when you're spending 2 days together. Told Eshan and he seemed surprised but interested. Told Sue my new boss and not as positive reaction!! Told me that if I wasn't "eating proper food" I would just put all the weight straight back on afterwards. She thinks I'm mad.

Maybe I am - but at the moment it is working and I am really happy with my progress....

First Week Weigh-in: Day 8

OH MY GOD!!! I've lost 8lbs this week.
This is a major breakthrough. I know I can't keep losing at this rate but what a great start. Read out my letter to myself with Lesley this morning. Surprisingly moving - especially as I have been thinking about this all week and have been really positive. I think hearing the words out loud really brought them home to me. Most of the time I am ok with myself - I am much happier than I have been. But I am constantly aware of being fat, I wear baggy clothes...

Day 3

Well I have surprised myself - and my OH! I have in the past tried to detox for just a day or so and usually by 4pm I'm raiding the fridge and cursing! But halfway through Day 3 and I'm feeling fine. Thought I'd be tired, headachy irritable etc etc. Not a bit, maybe it's because this time I'm doing this because I want to rather than because I think I should.
Massive psychological difference methinks!

I know its obvious that most of the battle is mental - but it is so important...
