Wow - this site is so inspirational. I'm 33 next - going into a size 26, with my darling 2 year old boy saying I'm a beautiful princess, whilst shoving my husband away with my self hatred. Something has to change. The most sensible option seems to have gastric band op - and here in UK. WhyGoAbroad offers what I can find to be the cheapest treatment - yet eirily I cannot find much as to reveiews on the place. One thing is for sure is that I've been overweight since I was 10 and i'M DESPERATE FOR OTHERS TO SEE ME AS ME INCLUDING MYSELF. I'd like to explore this myth in my head that your life can be fabber thinner. My BMI is 41? I'm bout 20 stone and I am desperate to change my life as I know if I don't do it now I never will. I want to go the best route - Hull will do op for £8k approx and I can't afford that - any tips honey pies??? x

My advice for you princess is to try a diet plan! you have under 10stone to lose and some plans can help you lose 1 stone a month and the cost is £200 so thats about 2 k and you do not need to spend any more money (unless for fresh fruit and veg) with the extra cash you can buy your self new clothes
I am over 17 stone, and just lost almost 4lb this week (5days so far) I personally do not think 20 stone is heavy enough to go through all that for an operation as you may lose about the same amount of weight!
have a serious think about it babe, there are lots of options out there!
whichever route you take you will find support on here!
and well done for taking this step!

I agree with MrsF... take a look at the CD forums for example, we are all so focused on the diet & totally believe in it, and people are getting AMAZING results. Also, having a break from 'food' gives you a chance to work out why & how you got big in the first place. You mention 'self-hatred' and that's a clue - lots of us have self-esteem problems & unless you look at these too the problem won't go away.
Like you, I wanted a 'fast fix' but CD had given me control and I feel so, so much better I cannot tell you. I know people on w8 & LL have similar feelings.
Check out all the options before you make any major decisions, and remember, there's always support for you here on this site. We're all in this together.
