Lesson learned

I should really be upset with myself this weekend, but I'm not.

I've done so well on Slim Fast, not cheating-and better still not feeling deprived. So when my friend called and asked if she could come down from Wakefield for the weekend, I said sure. My friend and I are exact opposites, except that she too has a weight problem. A very severe, unmanaged weight problem. Fading

It's been a week now, and I am getting depressed about this. I've been walking 2 miles, exercising to videos, and just making sure I am more active in general. I also have not cheated on the Slim Fast plan, and yet when I weighed this morning, I gained a pound. Why?

Okay, it is that time of the month. I usually gain about 7 or 8 pounds- and that didn't happen, so that's good.

I also MAY be under eating. I was worried that I'm eating too much by not logging my calories...

Not like me to be so positive

Had another good day. Again, I walked 2 miles in the morning. I ran a very small portion of it, but as I haven't run since I was 16, I was just surprised I could still do it at all. I know it may not seem like anything to anyone else, but for me to do anything I don't fancy 2 days in a row is miraculous. I have no discipline whatsoever. I better stop before I break my arm patting myself on the back.

I had my 2 shakes, a weetabix bar, a muller light, and for dinner I had Tesco's smoked...

I can walk!

No, I haven't been to a Southern Baptist revival or anything. I got new batteries for my pedometer yesterday and decided to actually use it.
Woke up at 6 this morning knowing where I wanted to be able to walk to but not knowing how far away it was. It only took 20 minutes to get there and when I checked the pedo it said 1 mile. (It's the first time I've done any walking for other than shopping purposes!) Gave myself 5 minutes rest and headed back- all uphill. 20 minutes back and...

Too happy to complain today

Yesterday I thought of all the things that I would have to write here. Why I was overweight, who I blame for it, why I never succeed in dieting, etc... But you know what- I've had a good day, so I can't bring myself to gripe.

I've stuck to the Slim Fast plan to the letter. In just two days, my bloated stomach is settled and more comfortable than it has been since I stopped Weight Watchers back in November. There was a bit of satisfaction when I caught sight of myself in a shop window...
