I have went through the weekly fly summary & written on my calendar what I want to do each day. Today I've already done what I need to -returning all items to their home from living room & hall, landing & stairs areas.

Tumble dryer is on, beds are made & I am dressed.

I need to go do daily chores though - dishes, laundry etc.

Sent from my new ARCHOS tablet :-)

Oh, I weighed and am going to give the "by the book" VLCD a go. Start weight 11 st 7 lbs. Two stones to go. If I was very, very lucky -- I could do it before I leave for Florida on March 30, but I doubt I will. But, I will be closer than I am now.
    First day VLCD done!

Kitchen cleaned (floor, counters, dishes), living room (vacuumed, light dusting, cobwebs cleared, window and French doors cleaned on inside), dinner made, laundry in progress, DD to swim lesson, and a quick shop accomplished. Dinner cleaned up --

No ironing or control journal work, but FitBit set up!

It becomes a habit. I'm glad your DH is participating.

    Good morning.

Already cleared up breakfast dishes, verified with neighbor mum that I'm bringing Her DD back from piano. (She finally got in with my DD's tutor and the tutor gave them back to back lessons to help with the neighbor's transport issues -- neither she not get husband are home earlier to pick her up. She can walk from school.)

I have worked on the laundry, had a cup of coffee and glass of water! . I'm about to hang up clothes to dry, strip beds, change into fitness clothes and try that an workout in "Healthy Living". I'll be back to update later! Fun times.

Re: de-cluttering the home, as well as body & mind

Hi ladies, I was wondering if I could join you? I've managed to get my eating under control, now need to sort my house (which looks like I've been burgled!). I seem to be on an endless cycle of tidying up, everyone makes it messy again within an hour, I can't be bothered to tidy again and any evidence that I had a tidy house disappears for a good week.

Need to sort it as it's getting embarrassing now!

    Could I please join you?

    Welcome Hules!

We highly recommend having a look at the FlyLady website (a bit OTT) but she has a cleaning on a schedule thing, along with loads of other organizational tips.

Also, there are books out that talk about how the same mentality that leads to weight gain and the inability to lose it, is similar to that of hoarding. So, we're battling our double demons of Clutter and what the FlyLady calls "Body Clutter".

    Welcome Hules!

I have a similar problem. There are only the 2 of us in the house but I can spend time getting the kitchen all tidy and organised and Mr Taz will come home from work and make some toast and when I go back to the kitchen it would be like I'd never cleaned! Toast crumbs all over the work top, buttery knife on the board, and he doesn't see the problem! Men!!!

Welcome Hules, sounds just like my house-I'm convinced the rest of my family think that we have fairies that come in and tidy or clean-certainly not a person or anything that the rest of them need to be involved with.

I too heartily recommedn flylady-she is a bit OTT and you'll want to cherry pick out the bits that sut you, but she has taught me that baby steps and small daily routines are definately the way to go !! Need any help or advice just ask !!

    For me today ?
well, breakfast dishes washed and out away, kitchen wiped down and tidyed, quick tidy of the lounge, bathroom wiped over, both girls off to school, beds made.
I have to head out for an appointment shortly so not sure how much more will get done today-this is me being realsitic (shcok horror). If I'm back in reasonable time before work I'll tackle some ironing. After work I have some errands to run, ick up the girls, another appointment, dinner, take youngest to cubs and pick hubby up from the station-I'm hoping he will go out again to collect her from cubs so I can have some well earned chill out time !!

Thank you so much for the warm welcomes I really appreciate it!

I've actually done Fly-lady before (even have the book I'll have to go look it out) I've tried many times to sort out my messy house. It does have some good tips and you've gotta love a shiny sink (mine currently is covered in porridge and other unidentifiable stuff) and I always make my bed when I get out of it ala FL as it's much nicer to get into a made bed. I'm actually keen to get started but typically I'm so busy today I'll not get anything done. I'm genuinely out of the house all day until 9 tonight. However I did make my bed, tidy up the hall and have been out for a jog so a good start. Shower, some breakkie and I'm off.

Really excited to have peeps to chat to about getting my house sorted x

And it makes sense about tidy house and weight loss being linked too, struggled with both all my life!
