    Talking Spud's Calorie Counting Diary :)

    Hi everyone, i'm fairly new to calorie counting forum been doing it a week, tried several times before, do it for a week then go back to my usual junk food! I managed to lose nearly 2 stone with slimming world last year, but then went on holiday which was full board and when i came back i just couldn't seem to get my head back into dieting which seems silly really because whilst on holiday i felt like a beach whale! i was the biggest around the pool couldn't wear a bikini because i feel i'm too big to wear one so i had to wear swimming costumes, I used to be 9 stone 4 years ago and when i went on holiday i would cover myself up saying i was too fat, i didn't even wear a costume then i would wear long floaty skirts to cover my legs, only now i'm bigger do i realise how tiny i was at 9 stone!

    Tried again after xmas to diet and managed a few weeks but just wasn't motivated enough, i suffer with anxiety/depression which i don't think helps as when i feel down and sad i reach for food to comfort me which i know doesn't help me at all! Iv'e put on nearly all the weight i lost i was 15 stone 2lbs when i started slimming world in jan 2012, and i'm 14stone 9lbs now, I thought I would write a diary on here as this forum has really friendly members who all support each other, and i'm always reading through everyone else's for inspiration and to see what they are eating etc for ideas for meals.

    I'm hoping I can stick to it this time, i'm finding calorie counting better for me than slimming world as i'm not restricted in what i can eat, i can have whatever i want as long as its in moderation and within my calories I'm planning on not weighing myself for a month if i can hold off that long! to see how much i can lose i'm hoping to be very close to the 14st mark in a months time, i think seeing a big loss after a month will spur me on. I'm currently eating 1500 cals a day, a weeks few ago i tried 1200 for about 2 weeks and i was starving and not losing much so i upped it and seemed to lose better, so that's why iv'e started of at that amount this time, so I can also reduce it as i lose weight.

    Monday:
    Breakfast:
    1 x Pikelet, half teapsoon honey, half a banana (209 cals)
    Lunch: Cream of chicken soup 400g, 2 dark rye ryvita. (248 cals)
    Tea: Chilli con carne, served with rice, food doctor corn thins and a small dollop of sour cream and chive dip. (669 cals)
    Snacks: Coco pops snack bar (83), cauliflower and courgette chunks with salsa (53) aero chocolate mousse (97) jaffa cakes mini pod (144)

    Total: 1553 (slightly over but was my first day lol)

    Tuesday:
    Breakfast: Nutrigrain breakfast biscuits (189)
    Lunch: Fillet-o-fish from mcdonalds and diet coke (335)
    Tea: Gammon steak, mccain original oven chips, petit pois and baby carrots (409)
    Snacks: Pineapple (41) Skimmed milk and crusha (120) coco pop snack bar (83) light choices pretzels (100) aero mint bubbly bar (221)

    Total: 1492

    Wednesday:
    Breakfast: Banana Smoothie, 1 banana, 250ml skimmed milk, 10g peanut butter, 15ml crusha raspberry (256)
    Lunch: Asda Good for you Thai chicken soup (this soup is reallllly nice if anyone hasn't tried it and only 130 cals for full tin!) and Tuna with extra light mayo on x3 dark rye ryvita (374)
    Tea: Cod fishcakes, 200g potatoes with 10g butter, petit pois (603)
    Snacks: light choices pretzels (100) 350ml skimmed milk (123) tesco version of mini milk (43)

    Total: 1493

    Thursday:
    Breakfast: Nutrigrain breakfast biscuits (189)
    Lunch: Asda GFY thai chicken soup, 4 pieces of wafer thin ham (182)
    Tea: Philadelphia chicken over pasta: onion, courgette, 200g diced chicken, 75g pasta, 70g light philadelphia, red bell pepper (667)
    Snacks: Aero mint mousse (108) tesco mini milk (43) mccoys jacket potato crisps (169) jaffa cakes mini pod (144)

    Total: 1498

    Friday:
    Breakfast: Nutrigrain breakfast biscuits (189)
    Lunch: Asda GFY thai chicken soup, white bread roll, tuna extra light mayo (352)
    Tea: Naan bread pizza 1x light choices naan bread cut in half length wise to make 2 pieces each and topped with: mushrooms, 2x wafer thin ham, pasta sauce, 30g cheddar, 80g fresh mozarella (674)
    Snacks: Aero mousse (97) jaffa cakes mini pod (144) olives (40)

    Hi babycake thanks for popping in

    I got up this morning and decided i couldn't wait a month to weigh myself lol so i hopped on the scales, its only been 6 days but im going to weigh every sunday i think so weighed this morning, and iv'e lost 4lbs! so very very happy with that, although first week loss is usually really good for me

    Saturdays food:

    Breakfast: Nutrigrain breakfast biscuits (189)
    Lunch: Asda GFY Thai Chicken Soup & white roll and 20g cheddar (353)
    Tea: Homemade cottage pie (125g frozen light choices mince, carrot, onion, passata, mushrooms, 250g potatoes for topping and 10g salted butter for my mash topped with 20g cheddar) and petit pois on the side (720)
    Snacks: Mint aero bubbly bar (221)

    Total: 1483

    Hoping for a good day today, my problem is usually when i weigh and see a good loss i think ooh i can prob have a little treat, then that treat turns into a full days binge on junk! so starting off well with my morning cuppa and nutrigrain biscuits i might suggest a nice walk somewhere with the dogs later although i think weather is supposed be rubbish this afternoon!

    Welllll.... kinda lol we went out for lunch and decided on mcdonalds, i had a big mac meal with regular fries and diet coke which was 820 cals, and had a light choices lasagne for my tea which was 375 cals, which didn't fill me up at all, i managed to resist eating anything else until 7.30ish but i was so hungry, luckily i had done some exercise on my exercise bike this morning which burnt off 230ish cals so i decided to eat those back so i had 300 cals left for the day so i had an aero yogurt, dark choc kit kat and pack of light choices pretzels, so i had a treat but stayed within my calories fat content for the day is a bit over but i didn't go overboard and eat bags and bags of crisps or loads of chocolate but iv'e learnt my lesson do not eat a high cal lunch and leave little left over for tea lol

    im aching loads tonight, i haven't exercised for agessss I have quite a few health problems with my joints/back so I often can't walk very far let alone have a good work out, so i'm happy i managed 22 mins on my bike i couldn't stand up when i got off it my legs were like jelly, my bf had to hold me up! lol

    do you have a diary babycake? i had a quick look but couldn't find it.. hope your weigh in went well hun

    Hi, thought I was going to wake up aching like mad this morning but i'm not too bad yet! although my ass is hurting from sitting on the bike seat yesterday which is rock hard lol

    Decided to give myself a little goal of getting to 13stone by 31 July, it's mine and bf's 8 year anniversary then, we're not married its just the date we officially became bf/gf and every year we celebrate it we normally go away for a night to a hotel somewhere and meal out etc so i thought would be a nice goal to reach for then, and if lose more then its a bonus!

    haven't got a food plan this week, so not sure what to have for tea yet, had my usual nutrigrain breakfast biscuits for breakfast, not sure what we are doing rest of today possibly trip to diy store, we recently had a new kitchen fitted and need to paint the walls and get new flooring etc so possibly trailing round looking at paint today!

    Total: 1555 - went 55 over cus I was so hungry last night i had a coco pops bar before bed

    Hi thanks! Just done another 25 mins on my exercise bike, so 3 mins longer today and i went further distance quicker so must have been going a bit faster lol my bike said i had burnt 312 cals i put in general for speed on mfp that said i had burnt around 265 so going with that, i was going pretty fast but i don't want to over estimate calories burnt especially if i eat them back! I was looking at those heart rate monitors to give a more accurate reading, but my bf thinks they won't be accurate and i will be wasting my money.. do any of you use them?

    Hi donna thanks hun, I've had a long day! Been to pick boyfriends mum up from airport so we decided to go a bit before we needed to go and watch the planes coming in, took some sandwiches with us as it was at tea time, we didn't end up coming back til after 8 from his parents house so decided on take away for tea, i had tandoori chicken and boiled rice hopefully that will be within what calories i had left approx 800ish the chicken didn't seem to have any oil on it think its usually marinated in yogurt and spices then cooked in tandoor oven.. Im shattered now, going to clean up a bit then off to bed x
