Fighting the Fat! :)

I like reading the diaries on here and think starting my own would be good so I have somewhere to write if i'm finding things hard. Also am hoping I will notice any bad habits/patterns and nip them in the bud.
So I am 25 and currently weigh 13 stone 9 pounds. I am currently Calorie Counting with my fitness pal as it works well for me and gives me the flexibility I need. I am now day 42 (after yet another restart!) and have lost 1 stone 2 pounds. I have been overweight my entire adult life, having been a skinny skinny teenager suddenly when I hit 18 I piled on the weight :( I have had periods of losing weight the most being 2 and a half stone last year but I want to get to 10 stone as my first goal, meaning I will have had to lose nearly 5 stone!
Sorry if you're half asleep by now but I think starting this means I HAVE to be in this for the long haul.

Oh so food today was within my calorie allowance (1200) but not a typical day for me as I was out last night and feeling a bit delicate today!
B- Berocca and not much else
L- Roast Dinner(795) with turkey, cabbage, carrots, cauli cheese, couple of roasties, yorkshire, pig in a blanket plus gravy. It was lovely but a rarity for me as I never miss breakfast and that was a huge meal
D- 4x Cracker bread with tuna pate and cucumber (215), a weight watchers caramel wafer (75) plus an apple and tangerine (153)

Total 1241

Ah thankyou Carrie I do feel pleased with that but thinking how far I have got to go is really daunting at times! Ha you are now officially stuck with me rambling on :) How are you getting on? xx

I always broke mine into chunks... Ie how many lbs till nxt stone bracket, then single digit lbs in that stone bracket, then how many lbs till lower stone bracket, then before I knew it, I was aiming for nxt stone bracket again! :) ramble away! This forum is not so busy at the moment but will go nuts in January! I'm doing good thanks! Aiming for my last 1/2lb this week but secretly hoping I can dip under goal just before Xmas for a wee cushion lol! Have a great day! Xxx
 
Wow thanks for all the subscribes and encouragement it's really lovely and helping me to keep focussed so I already think this diary is helping :) Carrie I like that idea and I normally think of it in half stones and stone categories too! Desperate to get into the 12s now so got to get there! I think December can be such a difficult time to diet but hopefully with a bit of forward planning I can crack it. I have a couple of meals planned (work xmas do thurdsay and family meal saturday as I won't see them over Christmas as I am working). Just think though girls of the influx of people there will be in January and how much further behind we would have been if we left it until then :)
Right so food today was fairly good, I was working all day (12.5 hour shift) so have to plan ahead so I don't end up snacking on the sweets that pour in from patietns this time of year!!
B- 2x eggs scrambled with skimmed milk, 1x slice warburtons seeded batch plus 30g Ketchup (333) kept me full until much Later
L- Rest of the tuna pate and 3x cracker breads , Heinz mushroom soup (361) bit random but it was tasty
D- Salmon and broccoli creamy pasta which I make fairly regularly- I did take a picture of this actually! (416)
Snacks: Tangerine and advent chocolate (still a kid at heart!)

Total 1167 cals :)
 
Smaller achievable chunks is always a winner! What a long day! What do you do? Great day done though! You'll be in the 12s soon! Xxx

I think so and you feel like you have lots of little achievements and jt spurs me on alot. Oh i'm a nurse so even though i do long days it means i only work 3-4 shifts a week. I'm in tomorrow so going to make my lunch in a bit not sure what to have yet but think it may be a feta salad. Eeek the thought of getting to the 12s is so exciting! I forgot to ask when your next weigh in is carrie?! :) xx
 
I'd live to be a nurse! Such a demanding but rewarding job! Feta salad sounds yummy! My next weigh in is Thursday! Eeek! How often do you weigh? Xxx
 
Subscribed :) I'm a nurse too but don't do long days any more my hours are mostly between 08.30-20.00 now usually 5 days a week so it makes it a bit easier planning meals!

You're doing really well good luck x

Evening ladies, another late one for me due to work

Carrie- as much as I love being a nurse i'm bloody shattered today! The salad was nice and filled me up nicely at lunchtime. I don't have a set weigh day anymore can be anywhere from 4 days to 8 days! when I remember really. STS when I weighed this morning which was a bit gutting but I know I am going in the right way. Just think 2 days and you will most likely be at goal! :) Fingers and toes crossed for you xx

Mrs Ginger and Lady Amalthea thank you for the subscribes and kind words. How are you getting on? I would love to know a bit about your journeys :)

Okay so food today...
B- Chocolate Ready Brek made with skimmed milk and a chopped banana (289)
L- Salad ( Spinach, lettuce, cucumber, red pepper and baby tomatos) with feta, diced turkey and a hard boiled egg. I dressed it by squeezing a lemon over the leaves which was refreshing and a littlee drizzle of salad cream (278))
D- I had a turkey steak in nandos lemon and herb marinade with brocolli, baby potatoes and red pepper houmous (455)
S- Tangerine, Apple, WW Caramel wafer (185)
Total 1207
Not a bad day in all. Hope you are all well xx
 
Food sounds excellent! You'll defo see a drop soon. My totm is brewing so I automatically feel bigger.. We shall see tomorrow! Xxx
 
That looks like a lovely menu - especially the turkey steak dinner!

I'm getting on ok, been a bit of a struggle for me to get where I am weight wise with pretty much a 6 month plateau where it didn't seem to matter what I did, the weight just wouldn't shift past a certain point! Luckily I seem to have broken through the barrier now so fingers crossed it keeps going down!!
