Diet overhaul here I come

Whenever I do a diet, I always seem to think it's okay to eat the same things but a lot less of them. This has led me to several years of 'yo-yo' dieting. I've realised now I need to stop and change my diet rather than losing a stone and putting it back on when I go back to eating lots of crap. Now I am determined to lose this extra two stone I've been carrying for far too long for good. One of my big aims is to eat more of my five a day, as this is something I'm terrible for keeping up with. I loathe most vegetables so the only way I can really keep this intake up is through fruit and fruit snacks/juices/smoothies which are worth one or two of your five a day. Today will not be a typical day by no means. I woke up late and so haven't eaten a lot. Plus, the day before I ate a big takeaway, so today I haven't been hungry. So I'm treating today as a detox day and I'll start eating properly tomorrow. 541 for my calorie intake today.

Thank you both! Do you have diaries? :) I joined up to this a while ago but I haven't really used it so I thought it might be time to. I have roughly two stone to lose. My aim is by mid July when I have my graduation. Hope that's achievable!

Yesterday wasn't too horrific but it wasn't the best either. A lot of cheese and none of my five a day... but I was busy all day, if that's an excuse. Woops! A total of 1415 calories for today. I suppose I probably burned a few with the walking but I won't think about that too much and see it as an extra boost to the weight loss. In the past, I've used increased exercise intake as an excuse to eat more, and although it's important to exercise I think I've probably used it as too much of a crutch when on diets in the past! Thanks again for your responses. Hope your days were okay.

Oo your food looks lovely. Yes I have a diary but this weeks my first 100 percent week, im finding it surprisingly easy at the moment but im out for dinner tonight so I'll see how that goes :) good luck with the weekend x

Thank you! Yeah, I found yours, and your food looks great. How did dinner out go? My day hasn't gone bad so far. I'll update properly later. I've been into town today and stocked up on Slim-fast as I've decided to make this a random mixture of calorie counting/healthy eating/meal replacement. Bit of a hotchpotch of a diet really! I even got a fancy shaker to do the shakes up in. x

Okay, so here is my diary for today! I got a bit impatient to write it up but I don't think I've finished yet. I think I'll have some grapes and an apple. I'll add them on when I've had them. I can't recommend the Goodness kid's pizzas enough. I'm such a massive pizza fan (I've been known to eat a full 16" pizza before), so to still be able to have a little pizza within calories is great. They come in a twin pack and they're in the fresh foods bit of Tesco, where the ready meals etc are. They have reduced fat cheese, which is probably why the calorie count is so low. The liberte yogurts are also great for the calories - 0% fat too. I must sound like I'm plugging these products! Anyway, yeah, not a bad day I think. Edit: Final today for today was 1434 calories. It's remarkable how quickly the calories stack up, thinking about it. It felt like I barely ate anything today, and yet I ate that much. Oh well. I suppose some of those calories were from drinks too.

Wow thats really good for a pizza. Its amazing how many calories a normal one is. My favorite from dominos is 3500 calories :(. Your food looks good, i havent tried the panini before, it sounds yummy! :) you will have to let me know how you get on with slimfast x

Yep, it's not bad. Probably not as good as your 500 calorie Pizza Hut, though! Oh god, takeaway pizza... always my downfall. That's a lot! Makes you realise how many calories there can be in food. The paninis are fab. Probably not the best thing in the world calorie/nutritional content wise but I really like them. They're £1.10 in Tesco at the minute and you stick them in the microwave for a couple of minutes and you're done. x

1433 for today's calorie intake. I seem to be averaging about 1400 so I think I'll try and stick to this each day. Perhaps I should be eating less but I think I'm probably burning about 200 calories a day through walking so my net calorie intake should be around 1200. This is probably most sustainable for me and although it probably means it'll be a slower rate of loss I'd rather do this than an extreme diet.

Hi popping in to subscribe :) I'm coming over from SW, which I failed at miserably and I lost 3 stone with CC a few years ago for my wedding (sadly all back now, boo!) so giving it another shot.
At 1248 today (so far), I don't really do dead on numbers, more of a range. I try not to go below 1150 (very rarely happens lol) and I don't go above 1500 so I always at least have a little deficit.
Good luck and look forward to following your journey :) x

Hi! Thank you for subscribing. I couldn't deal with SW/WW as I can't be bothered to point things and stuff. Calorie Counting is definitely my favourite choice! Have you got a diary at all? x

I'll hold my hands up and say these have been a terrible two days but I've recorded the calories and food regardless. Back to it tomorrow. I need to up my water intake and start eating more of my 5 a day once again.

I do indeedy, but it's over on the SW page as that's where i started, it's mostly just waffle but you are welcome to pop over :)
Well done for putting your hands up and drawing a line though, its far too easy (at least for me anyways) to just put my head in the sand!
Those Chicken thingys sound so yummy though, i could not eat all day so i could have that hehe x

I love them personally. Probably the nicest yogurts I've ever tried. The yogurt bit is so thick and creamy. 0% fat, too, which is always a perk.

I'll pop over and subscribe :). Yeah, that's what I'm thinking. Thanks! The chicken thing was indeed lovely. But I felt so bad for eating it, even though I'd done a hell of a lot of walking that day, and burned nearly 1000 calories. x

I wouldn't worry about it then, the walk definitely negated It :D x
