Hi, I'm Mandy and I'm a serial dieter…
I'm 49 and a bit (how?) in the past year I've been on slimming world, weight watchers, I've done 5:2 and counted calories, and pretty much failed at them all! I have learnt though that I've always done the best when I've kept a food diary on here, and had support from some great minis friends. So, if anyone one would like to join me on my roller coaster ride to slim, please do…I need all the help I can get ;)

Right then, onwards to goal for my 50th :)

Mandy x

I came and found you. C'mon - you CAN do this!

Aw thanks Patty!
I'm not actually starting until Tuesday. We're out for Rob's Birthday tomorrow so that's going to be my last blast. My plan is to skip breakfast, I got used to it while doing 16:8 and don't miss it, I also like the extra time on a work morning. Then I'm pretty much going to calorie count using MFP, but still have a lot of the meals I had while doing sw, so it's a bit of a mash up! I'm off work this week so I can get organised, I'm going to read your diary to catch up x

Found you Mandy. I may have been on here most of the time, but have put on weight, not lost it. Yes you can do it you and me both. |Good luck. xx

Hi - for me Calorie Counting is the way to go. I lost 5.5 stone in 2000 doing CC on my own but 2 years ago gained because I had an accident and ate for England and sat on my bum for months.
Given the all clear in March and have now lost 2 stone (half a stone more than I was before) and feel great.

Welcome back to Minimins - I am also a Yorkshire lass who has done her Menopause but had it good - for some reason I never noticed it

Hi there!
Thanks for the welcome. You've done brilliantly, I really hope I can stick to it this time :)

Rightski…
Let the diet commence!

August 5th - Day 1

My head hurts
Yesterday was a great day, but boy, am I paying the price now. Thank goodness I'm not working this week, I waiting for my delivery from Joe's Sausage, then I think I'm going to take myself back to bed for a siesta! Has anyone tried Joe's Sausages? I'm afraid I got sucked in by the free delivery and pack of sausages offer, so ordered 14 items. I hope it is nice stuff…and that I've enough room in my freezer for that matter.
On a happier note, I ate and drank so much yesterday that I'm relieved to start a new diet, and the thought of wine turns my stomach.
I hopped on the scales this morning and was 10 stone 12.5 pounds which I'm quite cross about, but hopefully I'll soon lose a few pounds.
Foodage to follow - when I can face it

It's been a loooong day, an early night for me

Breakfast - Oats and mullerlight

Lunch - Fish finger sandwich

Dinner - Joes sausage pepper chicken, roasties & Peas - yum!

Calories - 1197
Steps - not enough

Good start Mandy. Hope the sausages were nice. It is good to have you back. xxx

Wednesday 6th August
Day 2

I'm feeling back to my old self today and am still enthusiastic about getting back on the wagon. I've nothing much planned today apart from taking my Mum for lunch and shopping this afternoon. This could be bad for a couple of reasons.
a. She'll probably want fish and chips
b. If she's in a difficult mood I'll want to dive head first into a vat of wine or custard when I get home...

Wish me luck :)

No custard or wine required! We went to brewers fayre and I had smothered chicken, but only ate half of it. I'm still stuffed so I'm planning on having some toast later.

Breakfast - Oats and mullerlight

Lunch - Smothered chicken

Dinner - Granary toast

Snack - cappuccino

Calories - 1362

Ummm
Friday 8th August day - Day 1

The less said about yesterday the better!
I will get back on the wagon
I will get back on the wagon
I will get back on the wagon....

Yes, I was thinking the same. Much as my job annoys me these days I need the routine.
Yesterday I had a lovely day pottering in the garden in the sunshine, then I decided to treat myself to a glass of wine while I admired my work.
We all know where that gets me!
Hey, if you're getting broody for cats I could post you a couple of British shorthairs over - then I could actually GO on holiday :)
