Hi Everyone :D

I am no stranger to this site and just about every forum or diet on it as I have been a member for many years and tried every diet I can think of. But I'm sure I'm not alone in that :D

Ending 2014 weighing more than I started it was not nice to realise, especially as in the summer of 2014 I was much less and so I have lost my way and had a gain in recent months. Starting 2016 a similar weight to what I started 2015 wasn't a great feeling either but it was a pretty awful year for me. (2016 was started with good intention but come November I am worse off and have gained 10lb!! ) This is it, no more messing about, no more losing my way, no more 'diet hopping' (she says....followed by 11 months of diet hopping!!)......I am going to stick to the simple science of calories in V calories out.....it really is that simple!! :D This is the plan that I lost most of my previous weight with so I know it works, I just have to make sure I stick to it :D.....I have just done another 6 weeks on Weight Watchers and have struggled and I weigh more now than when I joined it so a good indication that it's not the plan for me, so I am hoping to see some better losses with calories....they are the bottom line after all!!

I am armed with my new gadget (now my old gadget but a new one is on my christmas list :D) ....A Fit Bit Charge HR :D For those of you who are not familiar with this, its an activity monitor that tracks my activity and heart rate, as well as my calories in, calories out, steps taken, stairs climbed, hours sleeping and if its quality sleep or restless sleep (very interesting results for me! out of 9 hrs in bed, I only sleep 4-5 hrs) distance covered, it can also monitor my fluid intake. So a pretty useful (and very accurate!) bit of kit :D

Current Stats

  • Where I started : Start weight in 2009 - 258lb = size 24/26 clothes
  • Where I am : Current weight Jan 2016 - 212lb = size 18 clothes (only 1lb less than a year ago) ....8th November 2016 I am 16st exactly 225lb!!!!! Grrrrrr
  • Where I am going: Goal weight - 147lb - size 10/12 clothes (STILL!!)

The Plan

I will start with 1360 calories a day as instructed on MFP, made up of good healthy foods, low fat, high protein with good carbs and split into 6 meals -

  • Breakfast - 350 cals - 9:00am
  • Snack 1 - 100 cals - 11am
  • Lunch- 350 cals - 1pm
  • Snack 2 - 100 cals - 3pm
  • Tea - 350 cals - 5pm
  • Snack 3 - 100 cals - 7pm

Exercise - I will be staying as active as I can during the day, getting in my 10,000 steps and will go swimming 2-3 times a week. Due to medical issues, I am quite limited on what exercise I can do at the moment but I'll not be letting that hold me back, I will just do what I can :D

Please come and follow me, support me and help me along the way and I promise I will be here to do exactly that for you too, you can never have too many diet buddies :D:D:D

Thank you ladies :) Sorry I havent been on this week, I have been so poorly with MANY things :( Tonsilitus, migraines and now awaiting an emergency scan :( But I havent let it stop me, I have stuck almost to my plan taking it all into account and so I am looking forward to my weigh in :)

How is everyone else getting on? I need a catch up :) xxx

Hi Sarah, it looks as though we have a very similar amount of weight to loose and I too have just bought myself a Fitbit. Although I am still trying to get my head around it, it is very clear that I don't move enough during the week (I have a desk job). I also enjoy swimming and am trying to go twice a week. I have been 'trying' to loose weight since the beginning of the year and I'm not getting anywhere as I think I need something a bit more strict. I'm planning on giving calorie counting a go from the morning, hopefully we can help eachother out. I'm looking forward to seeing how you are getting on ?, Em x

Thank you my lovelies :)

Em, yes we have simular stats :) Id love to support and help you any way i can. Fitbit is perfect for getting a clear picture of how active we are over a 24hr basis, especially as it updates constantly so I can monitor what im doing so much more accurate. you will love your fitbit :) Its funny that you say you need something more strict as for me, being less strict has helped. I say less strict as in i am no longer putting pressure on myself, which in the past, I load myself with tons of pressure!! I now eat what I like and just eat everything in moderation, I dont feel deprived and its working :) Im excited to see my next weigh in as its been a while since I felt this confident on a plan. I also look forward to following your progress too, good luck and keep me posted :) xx

Yes, I am certainly getting used to my Fitbit. The sleep is the most interesting as I get a lot but I was surprised to see how restless it was! I find strict keeps me on track as if I'm left to myself then I go all out lol. First fast today, going for black coffee and water all day with a normal dinner x

Good Morning :)

Well I am afraid things did not go to plan......I was very ill for a while and then I was admitted to hospital with a 10 week ruptured ectopic pregnancy with massive internal bleeding :( To say I was shocked is an understatment!! I am making a good recovering but not on any plan currently as I am not fully recovered, I have only been home from hospital 10 days and still struggling with mobility, sleep, pain etc, but Im alive :) The sad bit is that I am not able to conceive naturally in my future but I am blessed with 2 beautiful boys so I am thankful for that :) Unfortunately my situation has arisen from medical neglect as I had a coil fitted in December and I have contacted the clinic 6-10 times during Jan and Feb about immense pain and bleeding but the fobbed me off. A scan I had said I had 1 cyst on my ovary.....this was in fact early pregnancy. Then I had coil removed 3 days before it ruptured and still the consultant failed to investigate my pain and bleeding despite him commenting that i was bleeding very heavy :( So its all been a very tough time but I am on the mend and I am determined to lose this weight when I am better!!

I am being careful what I am eating so I have not given up but I am not being strict. My weight is currently up but I think that is more due to swelling and fluid. This morning I was 14st 12lb :0 not as bad as the 15st 6lb I saw a week ago lol

I hope everyone is doing well and I look forward to getting back on plan and having a good catch up :) xxx
