Yoyo dieter calorie counting plan

I have basically spent almost two years dieting for a day or two then stopping and then starting a week later ... It's doing my head in ... Seeing as my will power is terrible I am going to give 5:2 a go with calorie counting in between .
Tdee:1550 based on being inactive
Bmr:1300
Fast day caps:450-500

Fast days will be Monday's and either a Tuesday/Thursday/Friday.
Plan to restart insanity max with my rest days being the Monday and Tuesdays which is why it might suit me to use them as fast days. I will adjust my tdee after three weeks consistently following max 30.
I have left over celebrity slim shakes and bars which I plan to use up on fast days and for breakfasts .
Tomorrow will be my first fast day.
Breakfast : cs snack bar 110 cals

Dinner: 350cals prob have a stir fry.

Weighed in this morning 141lbs
Decided that instead of a snack bar I will take a cup of tea. And another for lunch so for two tea its 100calc

Today's fast choices could have been better think the tayto were a waste of calories . I think the next fast day I would take soup to uni and save the banana for later

Hi honey and bluebex , yesterday I ate to my tdee and it was liberating not beating myself up for eating . Today is another tdee day I had potato farl with an eggs for breakfast

Not sure what tdee stands for but it is your maintain calorie allowance I think. ... x
Tdee is the amount of calories you need to eat to maintain the same weight.

I was doing to reading online and I think my fast day allowance is meant to be lower buy o will stick with 500 for a few weeks and see what gives.

Today is another fast day and so far I have had a Nescafé double mocha and four Rivita thins taking me to about 190 calories ... I think the mocha was a waste of calories but it tasted lush. Will try and keep rest of calories for dinner time .

Hi Systema,

TDEE is an estimation of someone's Total Daily Energy Expenditure. It's a general thing/not specific to 5:2. Basically you work out your Basal Metabolic Rate (BMR) [there are various different formulas for this so it's an estimation rather than an accurate calculation], which is the amount of calories your body uses up each day just to stay alive (e.g. if you were lying down, sleeping all day) and then you multiply this by a specific number depending on your activity levels to work out how many calories you need to eat to stay the same weight. As the two fast days of the 5:2 are so incredibly low in calories (i.e. a quarter of the calories you would ordinarily need), 5:2 followers can get away with eating their TDEE (the amount you would need to eat for 7 days a week if you wanted to stay the same weight) and make up the deficit in calories over just two days of the week. Other 5:2 ers choose to eat a slightly low calorie intake for 5 days and a very restricted calorie allowance for 2 days.

Yeah my TDEE is 1984 which I think is a lot lol. I try to eat this amont 5 days a week and 500 for 2 days.

How ow are you finding it boxitoff ?

Thank you - I know what it is now but didn't know it was called tdee - I just call it BMR.
 
So far I am finding it liberating to eat my tdee in my up days , after months of starting and stopping lots of diets it's nice to eat and not beat myself up about it.. I did some number crunching on the calculator and with my 500cal down days and my tdee I should really only lose .8 of a pound a week .. However I'm not going to change my plan yet...
Today is my 500cal day and I ate a slice of toast before I remembered however I will be having soup so will be able to stay within the calories and treat myself to a Nescafé mocha later .
This weekend was a mixed bag we were out on Saturday night and yday I had a bacon butty which didn't stay down for long , a family movie day ensued and then we went to kfc for tea ,, which was probably 2000cals I'm didn't count at all yday so might do an extra fast day later in week . We have no night s out now for a while thankfully .. I'm getting to old for hangovers .
I was telling my mum about the diet and she said that if I continue to see results she might just try it herself.

Yesterday was a disaster wound up eating at least 2500 kcal . Thinking that it was partially due to the fact that I had white bread for breakfast .
Today so far has been better an up day also however have not even ate half the calories that I had this Time yesterday . Trying to plan dinner at the minute but no idea what I fancy

This week has been a total disaster have wound up eating 1800 cals most days and today's fast wound up at 650 cals . Weighed this morning and have no losses to report . Just going to keep head down and try to stick to my calories

Hey I have been missing all week I fasted Wednesday and Thursday this week. With it being at paddys fasting in the earlier half of the week wasn't really a option. Doing two fasts close together was really hard . I woke up this morning with a nasty cold and was glad to get some food. I had a sausage roll for breakfast which I could barely taste because I felt sorry for my self and i have soup on the hob which I'm going the heap pepper into to try and decongest myself.
