I though I'd pop up some before and afters so that people could see the difference 5 stone can make :)

So these are before at 15 stone...

Wow! You look fantastic! Huge congratulations on a MASSIVE weight loss. You must feel sensational! (?) And you are sooooo close to target now (you have the same target as me! lol)

How are you feeling about going onto maintenance? I was terrified but it's been nearly 6 weeks now and I'm still 9:13 so I'm starting to relax a bit. Still weighing daily and logging everything I eat on MFP - which I will for the foreseeable, but that blind panic about re-gaining it is starting to wear off although I know I can never afford to get complacent....

Hi, thank you. I do feel pretty good :) I honestly don't recognise the person in the first pics. I guess that's the biggest thing about it, I feel like I've got myself back.

Well done on reaching your target! :)

I've been maintaining 10st something for almost a year and low 10s for a good 6 months but could never find the motivation for this final push. Maintenance is hard, I guess we just have to make sure we never take our eyes off the ball...which is what I had begun to do but ultimately led me to go in the opposite direction and lose the last bit of weight. 1lb to go!

I reached my target through running, 5:2 fasting and low-carb, low-fat calorie counting. A week after I hit target, the weather changed and I was STARVING... craving carbs far worse than the general hunger pangs of losing the weight. I've actually changed my way of eating for the winter and gone even lower carb, low-sugar and high ("good") fat so it is really weird to now eat things like butter, olive oil and full-fat yoghurt and cream!! But.... the fat is quelling the hunger pains and even though my calorie count has actually gone through the roof, my weight is remaining stable - who'd have thought! If I need to eat like this whilst it is cold, then so be it..... I don't want to live the rest of my life feeling hungry.....

My OH has been talking me into upping my fats since I've lowered carbs. It's scary though. It goes against everything I've been doing for the last 18 months...tasty though :D

Wow....well done. You look fantastic

Wow Laura! You look amazing!!

Did you do it purely calorie counting? What were your allowances?

I'm really struggling at the min so you've given me some inspiration :0)

Thanks :) I've been here there and everywhere. First bit was calorie counting, I went straight for 1200 calories a day, in hindsight I wish I'd started higher, maybe 1500 and gone from there.
I then did about 6 weeks on slim and save. Then experimented with fasting. Then back to calorie counting :D
It's what suits me, you can fit most things in to it, you just have to do a bit of planning and work out your numbers. X

Thank you :) It took about 8 months of cal counting, s&s, juddd and back to cal counting to get 4 and a half stone off. I've been maintaining in the 10s for about a year. The last bit took a couple of weeks of low cal, low carb when my head was finally back in it. X
