    Hi,

I currently do Slimming Word but I've only ever managed a month on it and lost just under a stone. That stone is ALMOST back on and noticed Ruth Jones lost 5 stone following the simple calorie counting technique, I was wondering if people could give me some tips, advice on starting it, what should calories be for breakfasts, lunches and dinners?

Myfitnesspal says I should be on 1390cals a day to lose 2lb a week.

    xx

Mfp is excellent i would recommend using that. It updates as ur weight goes down too so no guess work. Its up to you how you spread your calories. You can have whatever you want when you want as long as you count it xx

Just be aware that the free foods on SW are actually surprisingly high calorie. So you may have to get used to a slightly different menu on CC? There's quite a few ppl who've changed over from SW so hopefully you'll get some better tips from them

    Hi ,
I started cc last Monday in my first week I have lost 4 lb. at sw my first week I lost 5lb. I don't know what experience you had at sw, mine was good tbh.
I've done WW got to goal weight then had my daughter, then I went to sw got near goal then had my son, then for the past 3-4 yrs I played about with sw loosing then putting on etc. So I decided it was time to re focus myself and to do that I've started something completely new.
My best advice really is to start afresh put all yr effort into cc. So you have a couple of choices as far as yr ready meal is concerned, estimate the cals in it, give them to the family and cook yr own separate till they all gone or carry on doing the sw plan till you have used them all up.
My opinion is calorie counting has never been easier than it is right now, if I want to know how many calories are in something I google it and bobs yr uncle there's your answer, like most plans it may take a little while to get into, for example a custard cream has 3 syns in it but I have no idea how many calories it has but once i have eaten a couple I'm sure I will be able to tell you off by heart! Good luck
    Claire

Hi all, i'm the same. I get bored really quickly following sw. But ive been reading this forum and its really interesting. I took the advice and got the MFP. Its so good i cant put my phone down. Plus it has a scanner built in, so when u are out shopping, it just does it all for u. Feel more motivated with cc, and now i feel more in control. My weiggh days thursday, so fingers crossed. Although im not expecting much, as i only started yesterday. And i do my own plans from home.
