Hiya! I've just worked it out and I'm scared that it's too many calories! I apparently have 27.9% body fat percent! Anyways I'm 143lbs and my goal is 119lbs. It says that I should eat 1616cals for sedentary and 1852cals for lightly active. Don't know which one to pick. I'm a nurse so I work 8hrs a day and am standing for those 8hrs. I also walk 30mins 5days a week. Will I still lose weight if those cals are so high? I used to eat 1200 and id lose bout 1-1.5lbs a week so I don't know what to do! Would really love your input on this, thanks!

It's all so confusing isn't it x

Ok cool! Yea very confusing! I'm gonna try the sedentary one for a week and see how I get on! 1600! Seems alot compared to 1200 but I'll give it a go and see what I weigh in a week! Have you been doing it for long? You losing? X
 
I'd definitely put it at LEAST lightly active. Being a nurse is hard work. The main thing to remember is to eat above your BMR so that your metabolism doesn't slow and your body is getting enough calories to function. The calories after that are to help fuel you through your day <3

I'm losing and it's much easier and enjoyable! Loads have people have lost but you'll probably find that you will lose fat before weight, possibly. It's more of a fat burning program so you don't end up 'skinny-fat'.
 
Iv think I'm skinny-fat .... Soapy people say I don't look the weight I am and that I don't need to lose weight but in the mirror naked I look horrid :-(

What's your calories intake and exercise regime?
 
Yea of course I will! I'm gonna do the sedentary calories as eating 1850 (lightly active) scares me! So the sedentary is 1660cals. Very interested to see how I do! I walk 30-60mins daily about 5days a week-I'm not a fan of exercise but enjoy walking to and from work!
My starting stats for week 1 are:
Weight: 143lbs
Waist: 30inches
Hips: 37inches
Ill measure my thighs tomorrow morning.

Day 1 complete-total 1660cals

I am 5ft 1in, 143lbs, waist 31 hips 36

I try and run twice a week abd do a fitness class that's like jillian michaels 30 day shred once a week ..!! I'm an A/E nurse three shifts a week x have three children x
My BMR is around 1350 my tdee is 1860 but minus 20% has worked out around 1480..!! So that's what iv Set my daily calorie goal as x

Hi tdee is total daily energy expenditure ... That's the number you get when you have your BMR and then calculate your exercise .,!! ie: sedentary or lightly active etc ..!!
The link that is in this thread suggests minus 20% from this in order to lose weight ..
For example:-my BMR is 1350 cajs per day .. Whaty body needs just by breathing heart beating etc ... I then multiply this by a number that relates to me being lightly active ... (you'd have to look which as I can't remember it) ... And that gives me 1860 cals daily ... And them fur weight loss minus 20%... Which gives me around 1460 cals per day ..!!
The link on here takes you a piece written by a bloke who explains it all .. I had up read it and re read it ..!!! Lol til it sunk in ... If you google tdee you'll find loads on there about it and calculators .!

Ohhh!! Makes sence now! I'm the same as you so 1460 a day :) I'm lightly active so should have been 1850 a day but that seemed too high so I went with the sedentary at 1660! Which I ate yesterday but walked an hour and on my feet all day so hopefully will be ok! So my cals now changing to 1460 :)

You should lose weight but if you stall up the calories for a couple of weeks :)
 
Got a whole chicken in the slow cooker for me and bf. Two yorkshire puds each, dry roasted pots, green beans, carrots and gravy made with stock and juices!

I tried to do slimming world banana pancakes this morning for breakfast but they didn't turn out too well :(
I want to try soups to take into work for lunch... Wish me luck, I can't cook very well haha x

I love homemade soups ... I made a parsnip soup the other day as had some in fridge ... With parsnips ... Stock ... Teaspoon curry powder onion ... And blitzed when cooked :)

Doing it since about a month eating 1750 kcal and over. I stalled in weight but have inch loss, what make me more happy and i look more toned...i do work out though. But thinking to bin scale as muscle weight more and there the most give up. I follow Dan's road map
 
I hate math. Just thought id let you all know lol. Once my boy is in bed I'm going on my computer and reading this about 100 times and figure it all out.
