I keep messing up!

Away with the faeries....
Hi guys.

So I haven't posted again for a good 6 months. In that last 6 months I became a Nanna to a gorgeous girl Harleigh-Kasia Lorelei born August 4th. I also became vegan on September 1st.

Generally I eat well. I have a veg box delivered every Friday and eat a lot of home made soups, daals, bolognese, salad and hummus etc etc. But I keep messing up. I have to feel full to be satisfied so I eat massive portions of veg filled meals otherwise if I have small portions I would keep eating and eating. But then I mess up my hard work after a few days/week by binging on a whole pack of biscuits/tub of icecream/lots of toast and vegan spread etc.

I don't know what is wrong with me, I have 14stone to lose, I know I need to lose it and I want to lose it but I seem to always fail. I use My Fitness Pal to track my meals, I take photos of my meals and post to Facebook. I don't know why I keep doing this.

I did so well a couple years ago but my life was a lot different. Different job, gym membership etc.

Ok so this post was a pretty pointless "woe is me" type post and I don't know what i'm asking for but I had to type it up somewhere.

Hello :)

Rest assured that almost everyone on here will be doing the same, especially around this time of year - I was doing great yesterday and ended up eating 10 chocolate biscuits just cos they were there!
Your meals sound great and good on you for going vegan! If you struggle with portion control can you divide the meal up and freeze portions? This is what I have to do otherwise I snaffle the whole thing! X

Hi,
I could have written your post, cos that's exactly how I feel.

I list just under 2st between June and October and now gradually all those good habits are drifting off and over Xmas I have just eaten rubbish!!!

It's like there is a switch in my head that turns on and I undo all my good work.

I know what I need to do and from 2nd Jan the process starts again. I have 5st to lose and I hope that I will be over half way there by September holiday.

sadly, I don't have a magic answer, but I am here to help/talk to if you want xxxx

Wish i liked veg to fill me ! Ur meals sound great! How about allowing 100 cals for a snack in the evening but you only get it if you have stayed on track ! I have one every night and (mostly!) it works for me as i don't feel denied ha ha x

Oi Mrs you know you can do this, its all about planning & I know you like cooking, just stay away from the chinese ;) xx

Has NOT just sent George to the chinese.

I only have chinese if I have the calories and I do track it.

I bulk cook my daals, soups etc and work out the cals on MFP. I have to eat loads to feel satisfied otherwise I will just binge on a pack of biscuits/ tub of vegan icecream (ooh I want that now) or bar of bournville. So I bulk my meals with tons of veg.

I know what to do, I do well a lot of the time. I take one meal, a snack and tons of chewing gum on nights with me and then eat when I get home.

hi tobi
i know how you feel i lose in one year and put back on in the same year this year as got to change for me im determined good luck on your journey x

If your best friend were confiding this to you, what would you advise her to do? We tend to give better, and kinder, advice to others than to ourselves.

can I also just say you are not alone. Last year I tried weightwatchers twice, slimming world, calorie counting, a vlcd, healthy eating and the 5:2 diet, as well as going on a week long Bootcamp, and finished the year at the exact same weight that I started it, to the pound! Scary. But if I hadn't been trying, I know I probably would have gained 2 stone.

Dont give up.

Have you read VB6? It's about being a part time vegan to lose weight. I'm not suggesting you do the diet, but he has some great recipes and thoughts on losing weight on a vegan way of life.

good luck!

If it was my friend I would tell her she can do it, take baby steps, pre plan and track meals but I do all those lol.

the last two days I have stuck to under calories.
I started a new Fb page and blog as when I lost the weight before I did the same and it helped so fingers crossed.

Food wise iv had big bowls of veg and gravy, pasta and veg with gravy, spicy veg cous cous, stirfry veg and noodles.

Iv never heard of VB6 no but ill be sure to check it out thanks x
