Low calorie snacks??

Ive just started a new job where i work longer hours than before, ive found that i get really really hungry at the end of the day and all i want to do is eat anything in sight,

I was just wondering if anyones got any ideas of low calorie snacks that will keep me going til i get home? I dont want to end up eating loads of calories on my way home (30 min walk) and then not have many cals left for my tea

Thanks x

Pretty much any fruit or veg item is good - apple, satsuma, banana, carrot, celery. Also I find a hot drink often helps tide me over, usually tea but 40 cal hot chocs are good if you fancy something sweet :)

I love popcorn! Metcalfs sweet & salt is my fave but they do lots of other flavours as well. Fruit is great but doesn't always hit the spot does it?

I find porridge is my fav and filling , think its 17g put in a scoop then 2x scoops red milk and one half scoop water = 100 cals- can double it if u have the cals

The little packets of cookie crisps or cheerios you can get with 30ml red milk = 100cals

2x cracker bread with wither baby bell or cheese triangle and pickles = 100 cal

2x cracker bread, prawns and kraft salad thousand island dressing and cucumber slices = 100 cals ( it takes a bit to make so makes you feel your eating more!) = 100cal
Or prawn cocktail with same dressing lots of salad

Aldi tom and onion tuna = think about 90 cals with some salad

If you are missing your savory food items I like to make these: Spicy chickpeas | BBC Good Food

They are one of the few things I am allowed to cook at home on my VLCD as it's high in protien and while it's not as low as some other snacks on the calorie scale it's very low on the Glycemic scale, and go nice and crunchy in the oven!!

i like to have a packet of savoury ricecakes handy if i get really hungry. they average out at about 30 calories each

Go ahead bars are great. It's 50 calories a biscuit for the apple and sultana ones. Belvita are similar. One of those with a cup of tea staves the hunger pangs off for a while.

Other than that, I get a Graze box delivered each week. They come with the calories for each pot (somewhere between 67 cals and about 180) and I can choose the one that best fits in with my eating for the rest of the day. It keeps variety going - which is pretty important :)

Really good ideas here :) I love graze. Also rice cakes with a thin scrape of peanut butter or even nutella is a winner, you can have 2 for around 100 calories if you don't spoldge it on too thick!!

2 Babybel cheeses - 125 calories
4 mini Lindt eggs - 120 calories
1 mini Lindt bear or bunny - 60 calories
1 bag (from multipack) Space Raiders - 65 calories
1 bag (from multipack) sweet Butterkist popcorn - 80 calories

I love the shapers bars from boots, the strawberry one is 84 cals and the mint ones are 81 cals and taste like a big after 8 :) also they do these bags of toffee and chocolate popcorn which are 87 cals (basically toffee popcorn drizzled with choc...yum!)
Also i buy the mini bags of cookies/jammie dodgers etc, i have to get the portioned packs because otherwise i would go through the packet quite easily lol!

As i have done SW in the past i have taken a lot from it, and i try and keep my treaty bits to 300 cals a day (i could quite easily use all my 1200 on sweets if i was left to my own devices ;) )

Skips, quavers, frazzles, wotsits etc are all under 100 cals also, as for "food" items that are low...ummm....let me get back to you :p x

Where do you get toffee and choc popcorn from? Gotta try it :)

Read it properly and answered my own question. I'll be off to boots then.

Hehe it's yummy! Only little 20g bags but it's enough to take the edge off :
;)
