Defector from Slimming World

Just a little message to say "hello" and to introduce myself.

I've decided that Slimming World isn't for me, although it's a great plan, I've just never really got to grips with it. I don't think I can be trusted with unlimited portion sizes! So, here I am giving Calorie Counting a go (I have an allowance of 1,500 a day). Calorie Counting is the only thing that has ever really worked for me, 21 years ago when I lost 6 stone and was a healthy weight for a year or two! Since then my weight has yo-yo'd and since I got married 4 years ago it just goes up every year.

I turn 40 next year and while most things in my life are pretty great I've never been able to get a grip on my weight loss, I'm hoping that this will be the time that it clicks.

I look forward to getting to know you all and supporting each other on our weight loss journeys.

I'm starting from ccing today from sw. I'm staying with my group and weighing though as I need it at the moment to keep me on track. Sw just isn't flexible enough for me. I often get called into work at the last minute and find it hard then to try and grab things on the go.

Good luck to you both, that's me completed my first week fully on plan! Lost weight 5 years ago counting but gained after my son 2 years ago, but know that it definitely works if I can just stick to it!

I'm kind of following paleo at the mo but have started calorie counting this week as found I was eating too much. ... I'm finding 1200 calories easy to stick to in the week. .... weekends are my downfall though :mad:

I too have defected/returned to the calorie counting and exercise as they worked for me before with losing 3st, got 5 to lose this time but I need a bit more rigidity than SW can offer. So I'm using my fitness pal to keep an eye on things and my gym has a system that, with a belt you get from them when I signed up in April, shows how much effort you put in and how many cals you burn.
Today was my first day back on it and feel much happier because I can't cheat myself!!

It is, it's called myzone and you get an email too, but I think it's just some gyms that are doing them. It's better for me because I know how much I have definitely burnt! Determined for 2st by Xmas!! :)

If you want to do this get your head down and do it - it does work if you really want it. I read diaries on here and they want to do it but they eat crap and then think they will lose weight - it does not work like that - sorry to be harsh but I hate to read on here that - I had a bad day yesterday and ate loads of crap - then someone comes on and says - it it ok hun, draw a line under it and start again tomorrow - what a load of rubbish - tomorrow never comes. Do it today!!

I've not started an online diary, I'm moving house at the moment so mega busy! If I start one I'll post a link though.

So far so good this week, finding it easier to eat less than I thought. The dreaded weekend and mass wine cravings to content with now though, this is when things get serious for me!!

These are really good and you can choose what you want to do - any of them are good. I started with the mile one then worked upwards. The 2 mile is still my favourite and will do it 2 times a day if I can't get outside. Gets really bad when you do stepping in front of the microwave waiting for porridge to cook or when I am waiting for the bus. :D

Have a glass or 2 of wine and factor it in - you can still do the SW thing of saving calories for the week-end as long as it does not go over too much.:eek:
I did cut out the wine with dinner every day but still had a couple of glasses on WI day when I had lost - my big treat.
Now I have got there I have my wine back instead of chocolate cake and cheese - my preference.

House moving is such a chore - we did it a few months ago and still have full boxes in the loft which I suspect will never see the light of day again.:rolleyes:

Spent all weekend packing, have virtually nothing left in the house which isn't in boxes and found out today that due to an administrative blunder it might not happen on Friday now after all!!
 
Hey all I'm also a sw defector. I've lost 4st on it but am suddenly finding it restrictive. I've had a week on cc so far and lost 2lb.
I'm still attending sw grp as I bought a countdown and have two weeks left but after that I'm not sure I'll carry on attending as I'd feel like I'm cheating. I've got another 3/4st to go so who knows what's gonna happen!
