Just weighed my pasta for the first time in years, crikey, I've been hugely underestimating the calories in my portions! Eek!!!
 
This is one of the most common mistakes((( No matter what kind of dieting plan you follow you need to track size of portion and amount of calories. Probably the first thing i did when decided to lose weight, was going to the shop to buy scales for food!! It was the best start;-) Before i even chose the dieting plan, I started to track calories and weighed my food. Well you have made a mistake with these calories. We all do mistakes;-) The main thing you have noticed it;-) So do not be strict to yourself and keep going! Wish you best of luck!
 
When I did SW Green Days pasta was free and I ate loads of it (no wonder I gained) and like you was shocked at what 200 cals of it looked like. In my diary somewhere I wrote that I would eat more pasta after my dinner on SW just picking at the left overs in the fridge than I do for the full portion on my Dinner plate now.
Rice is another one. :eek:
 
It's weird I had the same reaction when I first weighed pasta, sucks because I love it. Been in Italy for a couple of months tho, having tagliatelle or bow tie pasta everyday, and a good, filling plate is about 200-300..
Dunno if different types are different, or different countries.. I'm hoping it's the types :$

If you haven't, check out brown spaghetti, with a good sauce tastes just like normal spaghetti with a big calorie difference.

I wasn't really into brown pasta tho, dunno if I overcooked it a bit, but was just somewhat weird.
