if am doing calorie counting, are you guaranteed a weightloss??, I use MFP, log everything and just seem to keep maintaining! (suppose its better than a gain)
am on 1200 cals a day an don't struggle with what to eat, I mainly cook everything from fresh and very rarely use any processed food.
ive read on some sites that 1200 cals is too low, I am trying to get my last 1 stone off and its driving me made coz am sticking to it 100%.

any ideas??:(:(

hi, I use mfp and it gives me 1200 calories to lose 2lbs per week. ... I'm usually below as eating lots of meat, fruit and veg and have so far lost consistently. ... Do you keep an eye of fat/carbs/sugars etc to make sure you're not overindulging on one of those?

Are you doing any form of exercise? When I first started I was hardly getting any losses at all for the first few weeks, I then joined the gym and started to get losses each week. Exercise is great for keeping yourself motivated and can also help to get your metabolism moving a bit more. If you find that you're not getting any losses at all then you should probably up your calorie intake to around 1400 for a couple of days, then back down to 1200 to kind of kick start your metabolism.

Also, MFP told me to have 1200 calories a day as well but aim for more like 1300 a day. I usually only get 1lb losses a week but it's still a loss and it feels a lot more manageable long term. :)

Hi, I have read that 1200 cals is the lowest a woman can have so you should be ok. What about stepping up your exercise to get the metabolism going

I personally do not find MFP accurate and dont get losses following anything on there. I use foodfocus.co.uk which is free and you can log calories in, calories out and progress. 1200 isnt a lot at all, by the time you take any physical activity into account, you will be running on empty and your body wont be as efficient. It sounds like you use your calories to get the best from them by cutting out processed ect which is great but i too would say to aim for 1400-1500 and be generally more active and if you feel hungry, have a little more. Good luck hun x
