What to drink?

Hiiiii :)

Just wondering what everyone drinks through the day, other than water? I'm really struggling to get enough water down, some days I can't get enough but to be honest it isn't very often like that. What could I drink regularly without adding too many calories and is relatively healthy. I'm having the odd soft drink as a little treat now and again (still counting the cals though) xx

Hi! I don't enjoy drinking water I only really have it when I'm exercising, on a good day I'll have a litre but it's usually more like half a litre a day.

Have you tried fruit tea? My friend at work had them and the smelt lovely so I gave them a try and I've really enjoyed them. There are loads of flavours and they do them in a selection pack which is great if you're not sure which flavour you would like. The Lime and ginger is my favourite which surprised me because I don't like ginger in food.

Other than fruit tea I have the odd diet drink during the day or coffee with a splash of milk but no sugar.

I live on no added sugar still vimto cordial. But any no added sugar cordial comes in low calorie x x

Thank you :) I'll have to stock up on no added sugar squash and make sure I drink plenty. Do you include the calories in your daily allowance or as its for water consumption not bother? x

I haven't tried fruit tea, not for a long time anyway. My mum has lime and ginger so will have to try some of hers. Usually only drink regular tea - PG tips with skimmed milk, can't get away with coffee at all! x

I drink a lot of peppermint tea. I like fruit teas too but can't drink too much of them as they leave a funny taste in the back of my throat.

cadbury highlight at 40 calories each are a nice hot drink to have as a treat if you feel yourself reaching for something naughty :)

A glass of NAS squash is about 3-5 calories depending on how strong you like it. If you're drinking 8 glasses of water a day, throw 50 calories at your allowance, otherwise I wouldn't count it. Inaccuracies everywhere else will usually make up for any shortfall like that.

Ooo gonna get some of those, I make hot choc with hot skimmed milk so it'll be nice to have one without the calories of a normal hot choc x

Hmm I make mine quite weak and usually have around 20 - 50 calories left by the end of the day, so I could probably get away with it. Given that it increases my water intake I don't think I'll count it x

I struggle with water too. I drink coffee, peppermint tea and flavoured water. Aldi do a really nice elderflower one :)

I suck at drinking water, I'm so bad at it but when I do I add a slice of lemon or lime, or a strawberry and it seems more appealing x

Aldi fruit tea - in the pink box and you have to look through the whole shop box to find any - are the fruitiest teas I have tried (and I have tried loads of them). I find some of the expensive ones very weak. I make it and sometimes just leave it to go cool then drink it - lovely.

Thanks Systema, I'll have a look for the Aldi ones, I found some flavours like weak squash at first it would be nice if they were a bit stronger x

I only drink hot drinks, can't stand water and it's not necessary, so lots of black coffee, peppermint tea and Options hot chocolate! :) xx

I drink fruit tea and green tea mostly as I find it hard to just drink water or dilute juice. I find if I feel like snacking fruit teas really help, especially if you crave something sweet!
