Hi guys how are you all, I've been in the forum for a wee while but doing slimfast/ultra slim.
I've managed to lose a few lbs however it's not really doing it for me anymore. I'm going to try counting cals, my aim is 1300 a day? What is everyone thoughts in this amount? And if I stick to it would I lose a good amount? I am going to use my fitness pal to track and also will on here too.

I'm on 1200 per day and it seems to work for me so 1300 sounds like a good figure to aim for x

1300 cals is a good place to start, I'm doing 1500 and have had a good first week. I entered my details on MFP and it was the amount recommended. It reckons 1 to 2lbs per week from that amount.

If 1300 isn't enough you could always go up another 200 cals, or equally go down if you're not happy with the rate at which you're losing.

I'm on 1200cals a day, this is MFP's recommendation for me to lose 1lb a week. 1300 sounds like a good place to start, give it a go and see how you get on x
 
Hi ginger :) like Ali I am also on 1500 a day and lost 3lb on my first week. I was worried about the amount being too high but it's been fine. I think generally people seem to be on 1200-1500 so your amount sounds good. You can always increase or reduce it depending on how you feel. Good luck!

Hiya! Looking at your stats, I wouldn't recommend starting as low as 1,300, as you need to be able to reduce as your metabolism slows, and you can't go below 1,200. I'd aim for 1,600-1,800 at least, then take it down gradually as you progress. :) xx
