Yes, on the days you go to the Gym you need to eat more to sustain your body. I'd suggest raising your cals on those days to 15-1600 cals to avoid your body hanging onto the nutrients it does get from those 1200 cals and stopping you shedding the weight? The average female needs around 1200cals to FUNCTION though? I think if you upp your normal cals to around 14-1500 you'll find you'll start losing again. There are a few online calculators you can use to work out how much you need to eat each day, and how many to add when you exercise?

Its always the last few pounds that are the hardest to lose. Maybe you could speak to a trainer at the gym for advice on foods to eat to boost your metabolism on the days you go to the gym, or try having a few more carbs before you go to give you body something to use up. Hope things work out, let us know how you get on xx

Personally I don't think you're eating too little as some people go on VLCD and they're fine. If you're feeling weak though I'd suggest you eat more. Also maybe try eating less on some days and more on others during the week? So something like 1100 cal day, 1200 cal day, 1300 cal day, 1400 cal day and then repeat from 1100 cal day. This helps speed up your metabolism and will make it easier to shift that last stone.

Please don't also forget that muscle weighs more than fat, so your 4 trips to the gym each week mean you're building muscle so you may not notice fat loss. Try measuring yourself, you'll notice the change in your shape a lot better xx

You're not ya know. Not building muscle. You can't build muscle if you are in a calorie deficit. It's not possible.

The muscles can retain water though if you aren't used to exercise or change an exercise plan.

Ah yes. Excuse me. Was going through a 'know it all moment' It is interesting though I reckon as the 'gaining muscle' thing does get quoted in so many forums.

I'm sure you aren't the only person to have said it recently.

Blame the books I keep reading.

KD puts stoopid books away and goes back to reading the Beano Annuals.
