I'm 19, and i'm thinking of going on the CD (Cambridge Diet). I heard of some people that has lost allot of weight on this diet. Like going from a size 42 to a 36 in 3 months. But will it work for me ? How fast do the lbs go? I'm a size 16, but I don't know how much I weight. And I'm on The Pill, will the diet work while I'm on it? Can I achieve being a size 13 by the end of the year, sooo in 2 months? ;) Give me some tips/suggestions!

All diets work if you stick to them. ;) But many of us find that the Cambridge Diet works well simply because you lose weight roughly twice as quickly as you do on a conventional calorie counting diet. Getting fast results is really motivating.

But... and it's a BIG but - you have to be committed to doing the diet right. I'm not gonna fib - the first few days are tough. After that, not so much because the wonderful effects of ketosis kick in and you feel less hungry. Having said that, I'm not going to pretend that it's easy not to eat when everyone else around you is eating. As on all diets, you have to be determined to do it in order for it to work well.

And I'm on The Pill, will the diet work while I'm on it?

Yes, absolutely.

Yes, I think you probably could. The average rate of loss is 3-4 pounds per week, although this becomes more like 2-3 pounds per week as you get nearer to goal (cos the less you weigh, the few calories your body needs - so you're bound to lose smaller amounts each week as you get nearer to that magic target!)

Hope this helps :D

Well said Suzie :)

I dose work if u realy stick to it :) u need to be very strong not to eat in a few first day before ketosis kick in and then it'll get much easier.
And about ur target - is def possible in 2months on SS :)

Its changed my life :D

Thankss..!! But how about doing work out or going to the gym? Should I go the gym to, while I'm on the Diet, or it isn't a MUST??

Hi im ss and my CDC not to go to the gym as not really good so been walking alot more im sure on 810 plans upwards exercise it great really.!!

My CDC recommended not going to the gym until on ss+.

I have stated to do more walking, on my lunch break ill take a walk down the shop and get a bottle of water or a magazine or something similar or not even go in there just sit on the bench on the green and look up at the windmill lol....

I work in the middle of nowhere so surrounded by countryside.

Unfortunately where i live at the moment i wont walk anywhere when its dark, its not a nice area. Thankfully only there for another 2 weeks :)

My CDC recommend me have an extra shake if I over do it at the gym, LOL not joined yet but do exercise at home, will join this week though.

You have to make sure you dont do too much or it could slow your weight down, ask your CDC what she recommends.

I might be wrong, but I don't think that you'll be able to get the UK version of the Cambridge Diet in Aruba (that's the Antilles, isn't it? :)). It isn't available by mail order or over the internet.

I'm guessing you can probably get the US version - but it's a bit different to the UK version. You might want to browse the US Cambridge Diet sites to get more info.

I'm not sure if SS and SS+ are terms used by the US version?

Wel we do have the CD here, the person that does that goes to the Antilles and comes with it here, so people can use it here too. Ordering here it's difficult, it's nothing like the US. So ordering it's a low option and low possibility. I dont know if it is the US or the UK version :-S What's the diference between those two then ? If we didn't have it here, I would'nt have joined this site :) Hehehe...

What do you mean by SS and SS+ ? ...Hehe next week I have an appointment, so then I'll have allot of informations, and maybe know by what u mean hehe....

Well, as I said, I might well be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the UK version of CD isn't available outside the UK.

As for the differences between the UK and the US version, I'm afraid I'm not entirely sure. My understanding of it is limited to what's been written here in the Cambridge Diet FAQs http://www.minimins.com/cambridge-d...54021-cambridge-diet-united-states-facts.html

SS = sole source (3 to 4 CD products per day)

SS+ = sole source plus (3 CD products plus a 200kcal meal or 4 CD products plus 200ml of skimmed milk).

Sorry if this is a bit confusing. I'm sure all will become clear after your appointment next week!

Stick at it and it works

It works if you stick to it, it's not easy but it's so worth it, I'm only on week 4 and am already half way to my target. You also need to be careful not to go back to bad habits, it's not a cure for getting fat, but it is a chance to change your life for the better.

AWESOMEEE!!! That's amazinggg, 19 lbs in 4 week?? Wawwww.....

Well, as I said, I might well be wrong, but I'm pretty sure the UK version of CD isn't available outside the UK.

Well not entirely true :) I am from the netherlands and we have it over here, it comes from the same manufacturer, has the same name :) only we don't have the programmes called SS+, 810 etc... And we have to have a eatweek (i think similar to 810) at least once every 6 weeks (by health law).

But it is the same products and it really is the UK CD :).

The US CD is as far as i know and as far as my CDC told me a completely diff diet.

:)Happy New Year Everyone! Wel finally I got my cambridge shakes, soo I'm gonna start this week. I have found the Cambridge from the US, not from Europe. What's actually the diference between those two? Any tips before starting? :)

Hi, just take one day at a time and stay focused on your goal. Before you know it it will be your first weigh in and the weight loss from your first week will be such a motivation. Good luck xx
