Hi everyone

I just started cwp on monday morning and since last night i have suffered with cramps in my thighs. Is this a side effect of the diet and if so how long does it last?

I haven't had cramps but I do get pins and needles. Are you drinking enough? Usually cramp is due to dehydration...

hi there

if your not drinking enough water dehydration could well be the cause but it is a commonish side effect of the diet and i was bothered with it up to day 4/5 ( and id been drinking at least 3l a day) then it just disappeared which makes me think it might have something to do with your body going into ketosis

Also, I went through this the first time around ..... I had to sleep with a bowl of heavily salted warm water and a flannel on my bedside cabinet so when the calf cramps woke me up in agony I'd slap the salt water laden flannel on my calf - instant relief. I actually thought it was a result of the high water/low sodium vlcd situation - but I don't actually know for sure. The cramps went away, and I'm totally crap free this time around (2 years later, 27 days in) Ask your counselor? Stick with the diet religiously, and any concerns go to the CWP website? best of luck!

Good to hear they pass!

Second the Bouillion suggestion. It's very salty so really helps. I think it can cause water retention which may show on the scales, but doesn't affect fat loss.
