2nd day on SS Cambridge Diet feeling SO sick and exhausted is this normal?

Hi new to this, I've just started the cambridge diet SS. I started yesterday and got through the day ok however today has been horrible. I feel so sick and have no energy! Is this normal? I've been reading threads and people are saying it will get better! But when? I really am giving this diet 100% and don't want to give up so early! Anyone else felt like this and when did things start to get better? Also does anyone know when I will be in ketosis and how do you know if you are? Thanks in advance!

You'll be fine. Water, black coffee, distraction techniques, spend ages doing your nails, go for a walk, go to bed if you can- seriously, this will pass in a few days. I PROMISE you are going to be well in the swing of things by next week. Keep going!!!! X
 
I am on day 4 and I felt the same way the first three days. I learnt to distract myself and day 4 was smooth I must say
 
I've done ss+ before and found that the first three days were the hardest...think it gets a bit easier after that.....
 
Hi, I couldn't function on day 2, I was such a mess and questioning if it was worth it. IT IS! I lost 11lbs that week, chin up.
 
Its totally normal and totally worth it! Today (day 3 for me) started off horrific but powered through and the ketostix say I'm now in ketosis so I'm kind of glad of feeling awful ha! Starting to feel better now. Hope you powered through!
 
Hi I'm on day 2 aswell today and was hard yesterday but I went for a jog and it made me feel so much better and took the wee bit of hunger away had xx
 
I'm on day 4 today and have found it really hard!

Not hard enough to give up though. I think finding it tough was just a known factor for me. I knew it would be hard, it IS really hard, but results will be worth it, so I crack on!!

It's great to hear other peoples symptoms as it reassures me that it's normal....initially at least! I felt sick, dizzy, headaches, hunger pains.... But I do feel that each day it has been a smidge easier than the last.

Keep going everyone! :)
 
I had my shake and half a bar last night at 8, just had my weigh in and now I'm hitting the water. Not a hunger pang in sight! I'm on day 5. It does get better I promise you
 
Yes I'm sure it will. We have a friends BBQ tomorrow....eeeek!! Unlikely to get better then...
 
Just think of an outfit you want to wear, print screen, and put it as your screen saver on your phone. Every you want to eat, look at it. Eye on the prize.

And if you really have to eat, plain chicken breast no skin! Good luck
 
If you can through that BBQ on your first week you can get through anything! The first time I sat and watched my boyfriend eat my very favourite supersize meal in McDonald's I could've cried but after I was so proud for resisting and at each event/meal that reminded me I could do it! Keep sticking and you'll def be in ketosis Sunday and from there everything gets easier.
 
Thanks both! I'll be fine, I won't crack because much as it hunger hurts I'm in the zone. I'm all or nothing so if I crack I'll end up having two burgers, three sausages, 4 spicy chicken wigs and a rack of ribs....... (And I'm a vegetarian! Ha!) but seriously, being that I don't eat meat, I suppose a BBQ should be fine. Usually I take my own Quorn stuff around, now I'll take a shake! x
 
I could polish that lot off happily lol

Thanks. Let us know how you get on :) After today it'll all get easier and a few days down the line you'll be so glad you stuck at it!
