Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Day2 and I have questions? Hello! This is my 2nd day and, while I'm still feeling very excited and motivated, I have a couple of questions! My first day was okay. I quite enjoyed my strawberry shake and the chocolate mint one was nice too - bet it's good hot. I drank about 3 litres of water - spent the whole day either needing or going to the loo so I hope that settles down! However, I really struggled with the soup. I picked broccolli and cheese - it's my fav 'normal' soup so I thought it would be fine but it was horrible. Tasted bad but I think the frothyness was a big part of that. I quite like the shakes being frothy but it's too weird with a soup! Any tips on the best way to make it smooth without using my blender? Also, is 3 litres of water enough? I see some people are drinking over 6 litres? Does that make you lose weight faster? I'm feeling a bit lightheaded and sort of weak today - will this go away with the hunger once I'm in ketosis? Finally...are there any mints that are allowed? My mouth tastes yuck and I have sugar free polos in my desk drawer which would be lovely, but I wasn't sure if they were banned too! I expect they are but I thought I'd check. Okay, that was more than a couple of questions - sorry! Thanks |

But i had spicy tom soup for dinner and i'm lucky that i didn't mind it being frothy ( yrs of drinking machine made soup at work ) But i read somewhere that some people made it into a paste and mixed that then added the water while stirring. I'm only on day 1 and my mouth tastes yucky too! |

You cant- it will only go frothy if you blend it too long- it only needs a quick whizz and that should do the trick. Also, is 3 litres of water enough? I see some people are drinking over 6 litres? Does that make you lose weight faster? If you are doing CD they recommend at least 2.5l, LL recommend 4l. The more the better but only drink what you can- there is such a thing as drinking too much! Drinking more helps your liver to function more effectively in the fat breakdown process so it is likely that drinking more will aid weight-loss, this doesn't mean you have to drink LOTS, just a good amount to allow the liver to keep flushing the toxins through. Best thing is to drink little and often, don't overdo it by trying to drink it all in one go. I'm feeling a bit lightheaded and sort of weak today - will this go away with the hunger once I'm in ketosis? Yep it will definitely go away- take it easy for the first week or so- dont push yourself to do exercise, and have a nap if you need one, most of us do/did in our first week! Finally...are there any mints that are allowed? No but you can have breath freshner strips such as Wrigleys Extra Stips, also Listerine do some I think. Or you can use Goldspot. But no, mints contain sugars, carbs and chemicals which can cause you to come out of ketosis and make you feel rough. Hope this helps hun xx

Rep Power: 6 ![]() | Wow - that was quick! Thanks so much such detailed answers - I really appreciate it. I'll have an experiment making it in a paste first tonight and if it's not smooth enough I'll have another go with the blender - but gently this time! I'm relieved the weak feeling goes way - that would get me down long term - wish I could nap, but I think my staff might object if they saw me sleeping at my desk! Thanks for the tip about the wrigleys strips - that would be perfect. It's amazing how a little bit of support can be just enough to lift the motivation! Thanks again |

Yeah maybe sleeping on the job wouldn't be the best thing- how about a cup of black tea or something, the caffeine might help? Lol I always hated black tea but I'm now a convert!! Makes a refreshing change from water. Anyway hun hope you're feeling better soon, maybe just get an early night and recharge your batteries so you feel better tomorrow xxx
