    TOTM / PCOS

    Hi Girls!

Well like a few of you, I am also a PCOS sufferer.

    Some background:

When at my biggest my totm was non existent and when it did arrive, it'd stay with me for anything up to 2 months Yep, agony.

Well, when my 3rd stone came off (thanks to cd) I got excited by small monthly shows (admittedly, not a full week, BUT a show each month roughly )

The past couple of months I have had food binges as you know.

The last time I had a binge a few days later BANG - totm. I had another binge last week, been back on ss (this is my 2nd day) and BANG - totm.

I have a feeling this is maybe relating to my binges. They have never happened before until now. It just seems odd to me that I come on after a binge.

I am over the moon that I am starting to have totm's now, but also concerned that I am caving in food wise and jepordising the diet

Does anyone else have this? Feel like this? How do you overcome it?

Any help/advise would be much appreciated.

    Hugs x x x

    I began the Cambridge Diet in April 2009 - I lost 8 stone 5lb in 12 months

I fell pregnant in April 2010 so had to end my CD journey, resulting in a 4 stone gain but my gorgeous little boy is very much worth it!

I am re-starting CD in May 2011 in the hope to loose the 4 stone gained in pregnancy plus an extra 2 stone to reach my ultimate target of 11 stone.

    My targets for 2011 -

    1. Loose 1 stone - Done! 14/05/11
    2. Loose 2 stone
    3. Get back to my pre-pregnancy weight (13 stone)
    4. Begin the journey to goal!

Emma, try to look at all the progress you have made and how wonderful you will feel when you get to your goal and feel so wonderful about your body.
A few minutes of pleasure of eating then the rest of the week of feeling bad just doesn't measure up to the lasting pleasure of seeing those pounds disappear.
Try to figure out what sets you off on a binge and then do what you can to avoid it - and also if you can't stop the binge - have something to hand which isn't too bad to eat!
    hugs

Could it be, hun, that you binge because you about to come on? I'm always terribly unsatisfied by food when I have PMT- I tend to go way off track, then..oooh TOTM comes along (although it's getting more regular the more I lose- so I can keep track). I also have an incredible lack of willpower around that time and suspect it's my hormones causing me to say 'F*** it' and emotionally eat!

This is exactly what I think happens to me! I'm so glad I'm not alone!!!

I must say, you are right I often did over-eat (all the wrong things) when I was due on.

Now that my totm is more regular and I can guess that I come on at the end of the month, I can be more prepared. It's just fighting those demons! Because I will eat anything in sight when I'm due on.
What do you do to stop yourself eating when it's that time?

I thought if I had some ideas I could start trying them out!

I just need some motivation and will power to keep going!

PMT always takes away my energy and makes me ache and feel like I'm getting a virus, its very common to make people crave carbs.....and it also makes me very emotional and I over re-act to any slightly stressful situation. Before cd I used to reach out for the kit-kat chunkies.

Sounds logical all thats been said above. Though i wanted to add one thing.

I know that on the dutch cambridge forum theres a topic on this and it seems that while getting (back) on CD it can trigger a TOTM, usually always longer and heavier then normal. In that thread people state having periods for 2 weeks.

So it could be that you binge because its coming, but it could also be that you have to get back onto CD everytime.

Small added note this is just experiences of others over here i don't have a clue really how it is in reality
Have a little patience with me, since im not english, strange words may pop up every now and then .

    Hi Mrs T,

I too crave the carbs at totm. Any other time it doesn't phase me in the slightest.

My totm varies though, I ALWAYS come out in horrendous acne (on my chin - looks vile and really knocks my confidence) Some months I am emotional, other months I am the worlds biggest b*tch!

I have had no tears or steam from ears so far. Just feeling yucky, ugly and huge.

    xx xx xx xx

Just bringing this up again, in addition to me saying that on the dutch forums they state CD can trigger a TOTM, i started yesterday and i am half way through my cycle, should be at least 2 more weeks before i get my TOTM.......and strangely enough, when i just went to the toilet.........i think my TOTM has just started.....
