What are your plans for Christmas regarding food?

Dobbie

I will get to goal .....
Hi Guys,

As Christmas is soon to be upon us I was just wondering what everyone plans to do around food? For me Christmas is one of those rare occassions I get to spend quality time with all my family. So personally, I planning to allow myself Christmas day off any diet etc to enjoy myself. Having said that I am planning to exercise caution over what goes in my face Christmas Day.

I am planning a very healthy Christmas dinner with ample Turkey & veg and not too much by way of roasties, gravy, pigs in blanket. Also planning a taste of pudding but not with cream. Don't want to feel left out, but don't want to undo all the work done by that point.

So I guess I'll allow myself the odd chocolate but not the whole tin like last year and the odd glass of bubbly (not 2/3 bottles).

Looking forward to hearing what you guys are planning on doing.

I am planning something pretty similar tbh, last year I tried to SS and failed miserably, then ended up pigging out all through the season!
We are having a small family dinner, all meat and veg, no stodge, so will have turkey and some brussel sprouts, cant miss them!
I know that this is the best way for me as its the feeling of deprivation that knocks me for six when its a special occaision.:break_diet:

I have thought about this alot as food dose seem to feature in my thoughts more these days! I intend to have christmas day and boxing day off as i have 9 family members for dinner on both days and i do all the cooking so there is no way i am eating something different.
but saying that i will not be haveing any chocolates as i have found that my addition is over and i am not risking starting it again.

I'm going to give myself an allowance eg) eat dinner with family but no pots and only a dribble of gravy. Not having any alcohol apart from 1 glass of LP rose champagne (as its my ultimate fave) and avoiding the chocolate and biscuits.
In the evening we normally have a buffet, and then i'm sticking to a selection of chicken and salad!!! woooo!!!

OMG, not looking forward to the temptation of Xmas at all xxxx

Aww Rachel - SS over Christmas last year I bet was really tough. I do believe it is better to plan what you will eat and enjoy what you do eat without guilt rather than fall off big stylee!

I'm with you too maid marion! The trick is to know what to avoid - for me it's nuts .... mmmmm! Put a bowl of any kind of nuts in front of me and hey presto, like magic they disappear. So I'll be steering clear of those while you dodge the choccies!!

I love Christmas!

Blue-grapefruit! Snap! Pink LP is my fav too!!! We have buffet in the evening too and usually by then I'm soo full from all the cr*p I've stuffed myself with I don't bother. But this year like you I intend to have a nice turkey or seafood salad and NOT the sausage rolls, scotch eggs & pies I normally head for!!

im staying with the packs, i know if i 'cheat' at christmas it will continue for boxing day, then through to new year then through till our mid jan anniversary then i would give up as soon would be valentines day etc etc. If i break now i wont get back onto it again

Do you have a "Majestic" wine place around you?? LP rose is 40% off and i'm guessing you know how much it usually costs.
I'm getting a bottle to put on top of the fridge to remind me why i'm doing this hardcore diet. I'm sure there's a majestic around you somewhere, do a web search, and if not i'll send you one!!!! hehehehe

I think I will be at goal by then, but even if I am not christmas day I will eat and drink exactly what I want, boxing day etc etc will be back to CD, or if I'm at goal, low carb.

They do free delivery online, and get this
TWO FOR £65
Thats a blooming bargain (we sell them at £87 each in work)

Ooohh thanks for that! Guess who's off shopping for LP pink bubbles right now!! PMSL!!

you're not alone!!!!
HAHAHAHAHAHA!!!

Ooh having my two small sons, hubby, oldest son (he'll be 21 then, :eek:yikes) & his gf & brother-in-law for dinner so I will be 'being careful' but having a drink or three once my two boys are in bed. I will be ss-ing the rest of the time apart from New Year's eve & day where I'll be careful again. I fully intend to eat a couple of sausage rolls but NO choccies or mince pies and anything else I fancy will be in MODERATION!
Sadly as we have kids there won't be any £30-£40 a bottle wines for us but I may have some Tia Maria & zero coke or Malibu and Prosecco for New Year's Eve. I will be trying to get as much walking & exercise in as possible though, might burn off some of the extra food & drink calories off & save any nasty shocks when I get on the scales!!:plol
I'm looking forward to being at least one dress size down for Christmas, which is keeping me away from food!!:eek:lol

I intend to have what I want on Christmas day and Boxing Day - I'm not going to see it as ruining my hard work but rewarding myself for what I have achieved.

Im hoping to be at goal by Crimbo and so will be eating over Christmas but in moderation, no huge portions or extra helpings and will go steady on the deserts and choccies.

Im just going to be sensible at Christmas It will be my sons first real xmas this year so Im guessing we are gonna be over run by grandparents. Im not too worried about the food if I am honest its more the drinking (not that I am an alchoholic) but I like a drink when I am socialising and I guess Christmas is the time we do it most. Stupidly I drank Saturday whilst SS and I have to say I would never ever do it again so im thinking week before Christmas 790 then christmas week 1000/1200 (Meat, Lots of Green Veg) Gradually working up to the busy season. Id like to say my plan will work but Christmas is always unpredictable in our house, people coming and going bringing pressies staying for a drink etc. Whatever happens I know that I will have achieved alot when the time comes around and as long as I am sensible im not gonna beat my self up over it I just need to remember that I have lost lots of weight since Xmas last year!!!! Im more worried about the Christmas Shopping lol

Looks like 3 frozen ready turkey dinners for us !!!!

We are due to move house and the removals are coming on the 21st Dec...ooooooeeeeerrrrrrr

Should be sorted though hopefully.
I will be at my target weight by then but am planning not to go too mad.

I'm going to eat what I like on christmas day and then get back to it on Boxing day,....or maybe the day after.

I would just say that last year i was in the middle of doing WW at christmas and although i told myself i could have the day off when i tried to eat i found i was full really quickly. I remember really clearly xmas eve sitting down with a plate of chocolate biscuits (my husband was working and baby was in bed) and thought "i'm going to really enjoy these" but i only ate 3 and that was enough! I had never done that in my life, could quite easily get through a whole packet of biscuits in one sitting, so i was pleasantly surprised!
