Advice needed...school trip to Germany!

Hi all,

Well, at midnight tonight I'll be setting off on the coach, with 36 kids and 4 other adults, for four days in Cologne. We are staying in a Youth Hostel (better than most hotels I've stayed in!?!) and we have full board. Breakfast is likely to be breads, cheeses and German sausage, as well as boiled eggs and maybe some cereals. Lunch is a packed lunch, which we make up ourselves from what's on offer for breakfast. Evening meal should be fairly plain food (from memory).

I'm on the 1000 plan at the moment - and will be taking some bars and tetras with me. My first and main question is really about breakfast. I know I can have a boiled egg and some bread, but what's better......German rye bread (if it's on offer) or a small wholemeal roll? I'm determined to be as good as I possibly can, don't want to ruin the good work I've already done.

I'm also wondering about keeping warm, especially when we have the kids out round the markets at night. It's likely to be in the minus degrees at night and freezing . Usually on these trips I'd keep myself warm by having a cup or two of Gluhwein. However I'm sure that it's full of sugar, plus it's alcoholic. I know I'm not in ketosis anymore, but am worried that 1000 cals is still not enough for my body to cope with some alcohol.

Am beginning to wish I'd never bothered organising this trip  - on top of everything else I'm streaming with a cold :(

Any advice (on my questions....I know I must be b****y mad to do this in the first place :D) will be extremely gratefully received.

Wish me luck :)

ENJOY YOURSELF. I would have the following:

Breakfast: - FRUIT (Ask the BB to provide fruit for you - say you have a wheat allergy (to avoid difficult questions) OR buy some somewhere

LUNCH: - BAR with water and a salad. If out and about just the bar

DINNER: - There is a good German dish of boiled ham so I would have that with Veg. If nothing on the menu (WITHOUT CARBS) just have a shake. Any type of SOUP is always low fat. A wholemeal roll is around 200 cals so I would only have one of these per day (for your CARB allowance)

BUY loads of fruit from a shop when you get there. Keep it in your room and have that if ur hungry. LOVE BUNNY x
