Cambridge Diet Step 2 - what is your experience?

I have done SS with success in the past losing 5 and a half stone, i have regained 3 stone oner 4 years by not shedding holiday and Christmas gains and taking my eye off the ball! However i cannot get back into SS after several attempts over the last year, and just have to get off this rollercoaster.

I have decided to do step 2 (3cd, milk and small meal=810cal per day), has anyone out there done step 2 and if yes with what kind of weight loss and did you go into Ketososis?

Please get back to me if you have any info, i am at a loose end with this and need some hope that Step 2 will be effective and fast, if not i will re-think.

Thankyou

I have had good losses on SS+ and stayed in ketosis and if you really can't face doing SS it's a reasonable alternative. Just one word of warning though - make sure you are really strict with the allowallabe foods and weights. It's really easy to go over the 200cal limit and then the losses are not so good and it can get you back into eating. Good luck with whatever you choose.:)

I have done a mix of ss+/810/1000 and have lost 2 stone 5lbs in 8 weeks x

Hi, I can't say enough how good step 2 - 810 is. I've done it from the beginning having only intended to do it for two weeks before moving down the steps, but I've stayed on it for 7 weeks now and lost 35 lbs (2 1/2 stone), so prob almost as quick as the ss steps. I am in ketosis, though did kick myself out on Saturday after having a slightly off plan moment, but it's only taken a day to get back into it.
As has already been said, you do have to be careful with weights of food, but for one meal, it's quite a lot - and if you use turkey instead of chicken some of the time you save extra calories.

Good luck x

Thanks so much for this reply, great motivation for me - do you have the 3 cambridge meals plus 200cal meal every day, as in do you always have the 3cd meals? Do you have the milk allowance?

Really appreciated the reply xxxx

Hi all I've been on stage 2 for a week and I've lost 8lbs, I have one shake in the morning, one shake around 2-3pm then a meal around 7ish I have a cd bar with a cuppa about 8.30 ish, I've found it ok so far, so feeling positive

Hi, yes I do have three Cambridge products plus the meal - usually a shake for breakfast, a shake or mix a mouse for lunch, then an evening meal of chicken, turkey or fish and then I have a bar in the evening which feels like a treat. I'm not really a milk fan, unless it's on cereal or as a milkshake, and I also drink my tea black anyway - so I have a yoghurt instead, which is what my consultant recommended - again that also feels like a treat too.

Do just ask if you have any more questions, more than happy to help if I can

Hi sorry to ask a question in someone's else's thread but I'm moving to step 2 this week and was wondering how you found eating real good again?

Ask away!

Not sure I'm the best to help as I've done step two all the way through, aside from a couple, and I do literally mean a couple of ss days if I've had a bad day of picking at stuff!

But the ratings still quite strict, so as long as you tell yourself, this is what I'm allowed it doesn't seem bad - plus you feel really full as you've got used to not having much

This has been really helpful I have been doing SS and because next week I'm on week 12 have to go onto foods for a week then back to SS have lost 49lbs so far and dreading that when I eat I won't lose so glad that the losses are not too bad on it :)

hey hey thanks for that this is my last week on SS then im moving up the steps as im on a stone away from goal (my new revised goal lol) so i wont be venturing back to SS ever again x ive currently lost 77lbs and im just starting my 12th week so by the end of this week i will have easily lost a total of 80lbs+ in 12 weeks this really works aye

Oops pressed send too quick!

I'm now 1lb shy of 3 stone off in 9 weeks, and I thought that was pretty good. Step 2 is good, plus you get the advantage of actually being able to eat out with friends - granted sensible choices, such as a bit of grilled fish, but still it's good.

Well done you for doing so fantastically

I also feel quite bloated but that may be coz its my totm is due!

Well I lost 5lbs on step 2 which was great and I didn't excercise exactly but I have a very active job :) I still feel bloated after eating food lol I tend to reduce the amounts slightly
