Step 1 Sole Source Newbie starting Monday...

Hi All!

I'm a newbie starting the Sole Source plan on Monday. I've had a look through all the threads and before and after pics and i'm really looking forward to starting but am a little nervous too! I want to loose around 3.5 stone and I'm hoping to be at target towards the beginning of next year. Do you think this is a reasonable timescale or do you think it will take longer than this?

I've decided to start a blog too to document my journey. I don't know if i'm allowed to post my twitter name or blog address on here so i best not. Don't want to get into trouble on my first day!

Any advice or help will be greatly appreciated guys, i think i'm gonna need all the encouragement i can muster!

Good luck! That seems like a reasonable timescale for CD. Im in my second week and, although there have been tough moments, it's paying off in results. There is so much support available on this forum though, you can get through any lows. Wishing you all the best, I'm feeling great on day 11 and around 9lbs down already. That's not as much as some have lost on here but i'm chuffed :)

9lbs is a really good loss i'll be chuffed if i manage that! It's my birthday in three weeks so i'm hoping to be looking and feeling better for that. Fingers crossed!

U can do it no problem if u stick with it high heels. Obviously ive got so much more than u to loose but i have lost just over 3 stone in 8 weeks. The average is a stone a month but u usually get a bit more in the 1st month. U will b looking fab by ur birthday as the results are rapid. U can do it. Good luck :)
 
Welcome aboard huni.. My first goal is around the 3 mark as well but ideally want to lose more than that I've been doing cd for 4 week and already lost 23lb so I'm half way way to my first goal..

Hi hunni i'm also on here every day for when you need some encouragement. i'm at the end of day 4 now and still highly motivated :) i'm also posting a blog to keep track of how the weight plan is going. both good and bad days! We will be skinny in no time we just have to have faith in ourselves to do it once and for all :). Enjoy tomorrow..the first step towards the new you...get the choccy and banana shakes. they're lush xxxx
 
Hi, I started last Monday and I went for my weigh in last night and I have lost 11lbs already...soooooo happy :)

It does require will power but if you put your mind to it you can do it. I saw a story in the Bella magazine yesterday and a lady had lost 7 stone in 5 months on the CD diet. So if you stick with it you can get to your goal. Good luck and just think of the end result xxx

Day one and one banana shake down! I'm just getting hungry now so trying to decide which flavour to have for my lunch. I've been trying to drink plenty of water to take my mind off the fact that I'm not having my usual mid morning snack and to take away the empty feeling in my tummy! But actually i'm not feeling too bad considering I'm usually a bit of a grazer!
The shake was surprisingly really nice and a lot thicker than i was expecting so maybe this won't be as hard as i first thought.
It's so nice to be able to have somewhere to come when you need a bit of a boost and to know that there are other people doing the same thing too!
I'm having my first weigh in on Thursday because that's the only time my consultant and are both free but it will always be a Thursday weigh in from then on. But hopefully by then i'll see some sort of loss even if it's not a huge one.
Weddingbelle, i'd love to read your blog but i don't know if we can post the address on here or not? I'm on twitter under the same username i think so if you are too maybe have a look and we can find each other that way!?

Hi - I have about 4 stone to lose so almost the same... I'm aiming for April next year and then being able to maintain as much of the loss as possible til at least November (for my wedding)... think if you set yourself a good realistic timeframe it could mean you move up the steps and lose the weight a bit more slowly (and less painfully from a starving point of view!!)

I'm just on day 1 of week 3... (though wk 2 is a write off really!) I lost 9lbs in my first week and couldn't believe it. Am planning to stay on SS+ until I've lost 1-1.5 stone and then going to move onto step 2 (800 cals) to try to make it feel less punishing. Think you have to decide on your own goal and what suits you best to get there and stay there!

Get through days 3+4 and it will get a bit easier...

I've got about the same goal as you! I was suppose to start last week but for one reason or another I didn't! I doing SS+810 cals o will be interested to see how our weight losses compare!!!! Just joined a gym today so hopefully work the extra calories in there!!

Be careful you don't work out too much in gym as this could confuse ur body from burning calories instead of fat x
 
Hiya. I'm also doing the 810. My blog so far is on here so when you get to 50 posts you'll be able to read it. There's a few games in the forums where you can post just one word so that knocks your total up quicker! I've got 4 stone 10lb to lose and also weigh on a thursday. My wedding is in March but I need to lose as much as poss by Jan for my dress fittings then try to maintain! xxxxxxxxx

Afternoon everyone!
Yesterday went pretty well. I enjoyed the shakes (the banana was better than the mint choc but i don't think i shook the choc one long enough, tasted a bit powdery) and the soup was really nice. I had the chicken and mushroom one and used a bowl and spoon and it almost felt like i was having a proper meal!
This morning has been tough though :( The porridge was foul so i threw it away and had a vanilla shake instead but i wasn't overly keen on that either (who knew a fatty could be so damn fussy!!). And i also made the mistake of having it really early this morning so i've had 6 hours between shakes and still half hour to go...and i am frigging starving!! I've managed to drink my way through 2 litres of fizzy water to try and get rid of the pangs! I've also made myself a cup of coffee but added a sweetener to it. Is that OK??
 
Oh yes i have 3 sweeteners in each cup of tea! You just can't use the granulated stuff. I always have my brekkie shake after 10am as same problem as you im always starving by lunchtime otherwise. Glad you're doing well hunni. I'm on a nightshift tonight so will be on day 7 when I finish. Weigh in on day 8 and I can't wait!! xxxxx

I agree - I binned the porridge too and swapped them for other shakes. I couldn't hack the soups either they made me gag.
.. my favourite is mint-choc or choc-orange with hot water; it's quite creamy and find it quite filling for breakfast then I have the pre-made choc/banana at work. This week I can have the choc bars which so far so good with, though you do need to drink with them - you need to wait for week 3 for that pleasure though!!!

I bought the Summer Berry water flavouring and it is making a massive difference if i just want a different flavour in my mouth - plus have frozen some and made lollies for something to nibble on/relieve the cravings in the evening when am watching TV.

You're doing well ... keep it up. That weigh in will be worth it!
