Step2 810kcal One Week Down and Counting!

Hi Everyone!

I started the Cambridge Weight Plan on Tuesday the 8th of January 2013 and one week later I'm still going :).

Day 1, 2 and 3 were ok. Didn't allow myself think about cravings and experimented with shakes to see which way I prefered them. I have discovered that well blended with 3 ice cubes and a straw works best for me. Banana and Chocolate are most definitely my favourite flavours. I like the Chicken and Mushroom soup and the Mushroom soup.

Day 4 - the cravings started creeping in as my mother was baking cakes and buns for my sisters birthday but I did not give in.

Day 5 - My sisters birthday party begins with crisps, chocolate, jellys, fizzy drinks and buns, finishing off the evening with a chinese takeaway. I am delighted to say I did not succum to my surroundings like I would have at previous times.

Day 6 - I helped a friend take 6 children to the cinema and KFC but did not allow myself take a sneaky chip or bit of popcorn :)

Day 7 - Thankfully the temptations are gone for a while and got through the day, having a little less water than normal though:(

I am thrilled to be starting week 2 and extatic that I have actually stuck to the diet. Without a doubt it is hard but to be honest, I know that I was never hungry when reaching for that bar of choclate or packet of crisps. I'm hoping this diet helps me retrain myself to eat small portions and not to snack, especially on junk food.

Last year two of my aunts were diagnosed with diabetes and my size 20 clothes started feeling tighter. This along with the fact I want to feel like I fit in on my graduation day in August has made me determined to make a drastic change for the better.

Today I have had a shake for breakfast, a soup for lunch and a chicken salad for dinner. I get to start the bars today so I am looking forward o that a little later on :)

How is everyone else finding it?

Best of Luck

Hey Claire,

You are doing so well considering cakes, birthday parties and KFC have featured in your first week! Good for you!!

I am on day 3. Today I noticed that it got really harder towards the end of the day. I am not necessarily hungry but I am craving EVERYTHING! Someone got on the tube tonight with a McDonald's. The whole carriage stank of chips and I was even salivating! Then someone got on with an ice bun. Aaaggghhhh!!

I am still trying to establish which products are tasty/awful. So far I hate all the soups I have tried, but am loving apple and cinnamon porridge and all the tetras. For my white and green meals I have just had tuna, eggs and chicken with asparagus and kale on the three nights

Have you weighed yourself? I had a sneaky peak this morning and I am showing just under 4lbs lost already. Can't wait till official weigh in Saturday morning.

Good luck to you also!! xxx

Hi Willows,

Well done for resisting the temptations! The cravings are bad at the beginning but keep going! You will be delighted to overcome them when the scales show up results.

Congratulations on your 4lbs loss. In 3 days thats fantastic :D

I am avoiding the scales, its tough as my weigh in isn't until next Tuesday. There is no consultant close to me so I meet mine every second week. I know I have lost something though, people are commenting and my clothes are a little bit looser. Thats my motivation to keep going :D.

Keep me posted on your progress. Its nice to be able to discuss the ups and downs with people in similar positions.

I was allowed start the bars yesterday. I had the Chewy Chocolate and cut it into small bits to last an hour or so. It was nice and also helped me not think about chocolate or sweets.

Best of luck with day 4! ;)

Hi TheGirl,

Im the same, always starting fad diets but this time its going to change. Keep it up, your doing great :) I'm sure your body will get over its hunger soon when your not giving into it.

Our goals are similar also which is great! I'm not standing infront of over one thousand people on my university graduation drastically overweight.

Did you have a weigh in yet?

Wow, 14lbs!! Congratulations. Thats amazing....definitly motivation to keep going! Ya I get the whole 'avoiding parties and events' thing. None of my friends understand why I don't go out but none of them have confidence issues with their weight either!

Yip we should definitly keep in touch :D

Hi Becky!

I think we will all feel better for sticking with it! Hopefully the cravings will stop after a while.

We are all in it together so we should help each other out through our journey :D!

Keep it up!
