    Negative assumptions

    Hi.
Just wondering if anyone else out there is receiving lots of criticism for doing the diet.. I'm fed up of people saying its unhealthy etc. me being 4st overweight is unhealthy.

Don't get me wrong.. I'm more than determined to do this but just wondering why people feel the need to patronise me with healthy eating advice. I'm more than aware.

I have always been lucky and never got much criticism.... though I never really gave details to those as work, so I think they assumed I had a meal in the evening (if anyone specifically asked I didn't lie, but I didn't go shouting about it either). Close friends and family were aware though and all fully supportive, but I guess they have seen me battling with my weight for 20 years, and nothing worked like CD did.

Don't worry about what others think, they will soon seen the results.

Hi Amy, I also got a lot of criticism the first time I did this diet people saying I was mad, it was unhealthy etc. I said I had been to my doctor and my doctor had endorsed the diet this seemed to shut them up! Also when they say me drop from a size 20/22 to a 12 they commented on well I had done and asked questions how it worked and how could they do it!

I have told them I am back on it as put on a bit 23lb and most said you don't look like you have or a few said oh that's because you did that silly diet I told you it would go back on!

My response to this is that it was my fault I got too comfortable and that i had not followed the steps and needed to do that this time to learn the correct way and how to maintain my weight!

To be honest I am not too bothered anymore what others think other than my family who support me as its about me and my body!

Good luck Hun and you do what is right for you! This is a fantastic plan that works for me and I would definitely recommend it to lots of people! Just ensure that you do it 100% and so the steps and that is speaking from experience! I do not intend to be on the plan every Jan for the rest of my life!

Sorry that sounds like a rant! It was not intended to be honest x x

It took about 2 weeks for it to stop for me, it got to the point I got a bit blunt with someone, they were a bit shocked but they were quiet about it after that! They've all moved on and found something else to talk about now, hang in there, it'll wear off soon!

Actually I find it kinda strange now that No one mentions it! I am catching people looking towards my middle quite often now though - I have a little giggle to myself and Take it as a compliment!

I get quite a lot of negative remarks about this diet but I just ignore it! I used to be negative about VLCD too until I did the proper research! Mostly people just say "you'll put all the weight back on when you eat "normally" again". I tell them that that is exactly the same as ANY diet! I didn't get to this size eating healthy, my normal eating was clearly a lot of rubbish so I don't ever want to go back to eating like that, and following the CD steps properly will ensure that!
