Step2 810kcal Whats the best way to tone up

Hi all,

I have been doing the CWP since Aug last year and lost 4 stone 3lbs so far. I am really concerned about my "loose stomach" is there any tips that you guys could give to help tone up?

I have started Zumba once a week and do a gym and swim once a week but I'm actually quite anxious about the whole floppy skin idea.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks!! :)

You need to be doing toning exercises as well as your cardio. At the gym makes sure you do a routine on the weights that is aimed at toning (I am sure a trainer would be available to help set you one up), Pilates is brilliant for toning though so much more hard work than it looks. I also use a slendertone belt (my type of exercise).

Just bear in mind that you also need to be looking after your skin, it is not just the muscle toning below the surface. Make sure you are using a good firming moisturiser every day, use a body brush to get the blood flowing and make sure you are drinking loads of water. These will help but there is no perfect answers, it can also depend on factors such as age (younger the better) and how much you had to lose.

Yay! Thanks chlo! As I'm getting closer to goal I'm starting to get slightly panicked about my wobbly bits! I've shifted 7 1/2 stone but still got a max of 2 stone to go! Can you do pilates and gentle exercise while on SS or would you say go up to 810 first? As my losses are slowing down the nearer I get!

Wow 71/2 stone is fantastic. The first time I did CD I went to the gym everyday once I had lost a fair bit already and it seemed fine, and I used to really go for it. I did find straight after a workout I was starving, but was never weak etc. during the workout. The official guidance is SS is fine with gentle exercise but to move up if doing anything more intense. It also effects some peoples losses, so you may lose more by going up a step and going to the gym rather than doing the gym and SS.

I had so much restless energy yesterday that i went to the gym for the first time in 9 months and it was great! I can't believe how much better I can run now I'm over 100lbs lighter! Thanks got the advice it's great to hear from someone who's being through the process! :D

I agree with Chlo, I found a really good 20 min Pilates workout for beginners with Kristen McGee and even though it was quite hard it was doable and I felt amazing afterwards! Unfortunately it was accidentally deleted from the Sky+ box and I haven't been able to find it again (it was on the Fitness channel) or on the Internet and nothing else I've looked up is as good!
After my initial 2 weeks on 810 I hope to start doing 10 mins of gentle yoga moves every day just so my muscles get used to toning.
As Chlo says, swimming is excellent for toning and so low-impact. I haven't done it whilst on this plan but always used to get so hungry after an hour of swimming so just make sure you have a bar/shake on hand as you'll probably be devouring it in the changing rooms!

Shazzy - what an amazing weightloss, well done!
